Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The location itself is nice, but the customer service was disappointing.
I placed a mobile order and immediately got in line, fully expecting a 5–10 minute wait since I ordered lunch during breakfast — that’s completely reasonable. What’s not reasonable is waiting 25 minutes only to receive food that had been sitting under a warmer long enough for the bread to dry out. On top of that, the bag was missing napkins, ketchup, and pepper packets. I also requested my beverage with no ice, and it came with ice anyway — a detail that was clearly noted in my online order.
If fulfilling mobile orders accurately is a challenge, it may be worth investing in an auditory alert system to help staff catch the details. I won’t be returning, and I’d strongly advise others to thoroughly check their order before leaving.

This was the first time in such a long time that I was able to come and get breakfast after midnight and it not take 30 minutes to an hour or more. At a lot of other locations that I have gone to before it takes so long but I was in and out in under 10 minutes. This is my new favorite location.

It had been years since my last visit to Whataburger, so when I noticed this new location had opened in the former Fuddruckers building off US-59 near Weslayan, I decided to stop by and give it a try.
The employee taking our order was friendly and welcoming. We ordered a Patty Melt Meal, which was about $12.50 plus tax, and upgraded the drink to the promotional Banana Pudding Shake for an additional $1.50, bringing the total to around $14 plus tax. The food came out quickly, and while the Patty Melt was delicious, the real star of the meal was the Banana Pudding Shake. Hopefully it sticks around longer than the promotional period because it was excellent.
The restaurant has plenty of seating and parking, making it a convenient stop. Of course, I also grabbed a few packets of Whataburger's spicy ketchup, and the staff were happy to provide them.
My only criticism is the price. In this economy, it feels a bit expensive for a fast-food meal, especially when a sit-down restaurant meal can sometimes be the same price. That said, the Banana Pudding Shake alone makes this location worth a visit. Overall, a good experience.

The girl working the drive thru line (Tyera) was so well-mannered, courteous, articulate, & professional. Her customer service skills are the best I have EVER seen at any Whataburger in my 36 years of living. And no, that's not a joke. Tyera is the definition of an asset & this store's management should seriously consider elevating her to a leadership position. I never really do Google reviews, but at 3am, I was honestly blown away by her performance. Keep doing your thing Tyera 🫡
