Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

I got a regular Coke and a loaded burger …how difficult is it to get an order correct? I returned today to give it a second chance. Elvin is the only reason I even considered it. He politely took my order. While I was waiting for it, a line began to form with people looking for ice and sweet tea. Shortly thereafter, a short, Hispanic woman came out and rudely shouted “we have no ice”. It wasn’t what she was saying that was disturbing. It was how she was saying it. To her comment I loudly responded. You have no manners either! I will never go there again.

My receipt clearly showed the request, but neither burger had them. I didn’t notice until I was already halfway through eating. When I mentioned it to the employee at the front, she offered me a side of grilled onions. I explained that I had already finished my burger, and her response was basically, “Well, I don’t know what to do then.” No apology, no manager, no attempt to make it right with a refund, coupon, or anything for a future visit. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What disappointed me more was how the situation was handled. This also isn’t the first time my online order has been made incorrectly. If you order through the app, definitely check your food before leaving. Apparently, selecting your order correctly in the app doesn’t necessarily mean it will be prepared correctly.
