    Really not as good as it's hyped up to be and definitely not worth those prices. I will not be returning. Just an overall weird, not pleasant experience. The booths are strangly designed and not entered gracefully, not sure if the server or the kitchen messed up my order, but my friend was almost done with her meal by the time they fixed it and got it out to me. The flavors in the sandwich were a strange combination and it was a sloppy mess to eat and the salad had so much pepper it was overpowering. Our appetizer, the tamales were ok, but only had the cheese on one, not both. Never going back, not worth it.

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 STARS ISN’T ENOUGH ASK FOR EVAN! We had an AMAZING experience at The Rustic, and Evan was hands down one of the best servers we’ve ever had! From the moment we sat down, he was attentive, friendly, professional, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. His service was absolutely TOP TIER! Evan was on it the entire time checking on us without hovering, making sure we had everything we needed, and doing it all with such a great attitude and personality. You can tell when someone is just doing their job versus when someone genuinely cares about giving their guests a great experience, and Evan definitely went above and beyond. The food and atmosphere were great, but Evan’s service is what made the night memorable. The Rustic has a gem with him! Somebody give this man a raise, a bonus, Employee of the Month or SOMETHING! 😂👏🏾 We will absolutely be back, and if we can request Evan, WE ARE! 10/10 service, 100/10 experience! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

    Here’s a polished version: My Rustic experience was fantastic! The service was top tier, from the friendly greeter to my server, Logan. The food was amazing from the appetizer all the way through dessert. I tried the Taste of Texas four course meal for $39, which was a great way to sample a variety of menu options at an excellent price. I will definitely be returning to try more items from the menu. The happy hour menu also offers a great selection, with several options available for under $10. Give Logan a wave when you stop by, he's an amazing server.

    Unfortunately, The Rustic in Uptown was a miss for me. I went with friends, and while there were a few things we enjoyed, overall the food was disappointing. One of my friends ordered the salmon burger and actually enjoyed it. He said it was a little messy, but flavor-wise it was good. Another friend had the half chicken. He said the outside of the chicken was seasoned really well and had great flavor, but the inside was a bit dry. Overall, though, he thought it was decent. I ordered the cedar plank salmon and was told it would be cooked medium, but mine was extremely undercooked—to the point that it appeared raw in the center. As a chef myself, that was especially concerning to me. The fried oysters were another disappointment. They tasted like they had simply been rolled in cornmeal, the breading was falling off, and they really lacked seasoning and flavor. The deviled eggs weren’t good either. I also tried the portobello mushroom side, which was extremely slimy, and the topping was more like a chunky tomato salsa with large pieces of tomato than what I was expecting. There were a couple of standouts, though! The onion rings were really good, especially with the white dipping sauce that came with them. And the broccolini was absolutely delicious! It was seasoned perfectly, had great flavor, and the char on it was spot-on. Everybody at the table tore that broccolini UP! 😂 It was easily one of the best things we had. The drinks were decent. We had lemonade, and I tried the ginger yuzu spritz, but nothing really stood out enough to make up for the overall food experience. Unfortunately, aside from the broccolini, onion rings, and a couple of the entrées my friends thought were decent, the meal just wasn’t good for me. Between the lack of seasoning, some of the textures, and especially my severely undercooked salmon, I don’t see myself returning.

    Our experience was unfortunately disappointing. Our server, Jose, seemed to have an attitude throughout most of the evening and was absent for quite a while. At one point, someone in our party tried to get his attention by saying “excuse me,” and he continued walking while simply holding up a finger, rather than saying something like “I’ll be right with you.” What really left a bad impression happened immediately after we paid. Jose made the comment to the other waiter , “Wow, Saturdays keep getting worse and worse, they keep tipping less and less.” Given that this was said right after our payment and tip were completed, the timing made the comment feel directed toward our party. Regardless of whether it was intended that way, commenting about tips within earshot of guests especially immediately after they’ve paid is unprofessional. We’re always happy to tip appropriately for good service, but the entire experience matters.
