  This was my first visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, I was very disappointed with both the service and the quality of the food. We ordered the fried oysters, but they were rubbery and very difficult to chew. One of our drink orders was incorrect, and the second appetizer we ordered never arrived. We had originally planned to stay for dinner, but due to the overall experience, we decided to leave and dine elsewhere instead. Management really needs to focus on improving both service and food quality because this restaurant is in an excellent location and has the potential to be much busier.

  It was Sunday, around 2 PM, and we were served the brunch menu—which is quite small, though I would have liked to have had more options. I chose the burger, and it was SO GOOD (and mind you, burgers aren't usually one of my favorite foods), but this one left me happily satisfied. There was live music, the staff was friendly, and the service was fast. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 💯. FYI: the menu expands starting at 3 PM. Era domingo aprox 2 pm y nos tocó el menú tipo brunch, que es bastante pequeño aunque me hubiese gustado tener mas opciones... elegí la hamburguesa y estaba DEMASIADO BUENA (dejandoles saber que la hamburguesa no es de mis comidas favoritas) pero esta me dejó felizmente satisfecha. Había música en vivo, el personal fue amable y el servicio fue rápido. RECOMENDADO 💯 FYI el menú se amplia a partir de las 3 pm.

  We came to The Rustic after Rice University graduation. The chicken-fried steak was horrible, and we only asked to change my kids’ meal to a basic burger. At 12:10, they told us the kitchen was already shut down. We had 12 guests, so we were spending a lot of money, and this one simple request couldn’t be accommodated. The rest of the food was mediocre as well. After graduation tonight, we just picked the closest restaurant near us, but I would say don’t make the same mistake we did by choosing this place. Thumbs down.

  So, we had a group of 20, who arrived to the restaurant at 10:15 pm, Thursday night after we attended a graduation downtown. They close at 11 pm. We were greeted and welcomed immediately by Daniel, the host. We had a drink at the bar as we waited for them to put a big table together for us. Our bartender, Yotom, was great. He was super busy & by himself, and took care of everyone's drinks! He was very patient!! Drinks were on point! We were seated and the waiters were patient and proceeded to take everyone's orders, eventhough by then, it was 11 pm & they were closed. Our waiters, Layla and Ejike, were amazing and took care of everyone. All our orders were correct, food came out hot & in a timely manner. The manager, Abby, and kitchen manager, Morgan, made sure everything was perfect! My salad, That salad, was so good with grilled chicken. My husband had a cheeseburger, cooked perfectly! It was very good. My son had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly too. We were there way after closing time & the service, food, and drinks were on point the whole evening. And we were able to celebrate our close friend's graduation in great fashion! They even brought him.out a dessert with a candle to celebrate!! We have only great things to say about The Rustic!!!

  Ordered cedar plank grilled salmon for my son who recently had a heart transplant, server was told this. They brought out his salmon and it was raw inside. Not fully grilled. Server was nice offered a free replacement but we decided just give us a banana pudding. It wasn’t even banana pudding. It was mushed puréed bananas with whip cream on top and a few cookies in a jar. I have no idea how this place is so expensive. Or popular. Maybe an off night? We wasted almost $100 on mistakes and over salted redfish. Even the sides are going to be extra . $35 for just the not good fish, $8-$12 for one side to go with your entree. Not worth it and raw undercooked fish could have put my son in the hospital.
