I am a long time resident of Houston and have been enjoying papa’s restaurants for 30 years. Have NEVER had anything negative to say until now . The tortillas were different, much smaller and they only gave us three to go with our fajitas, I thought it was a mistake. They usually give several, so that has changed, and they didn’t seem the same. There was a difference in the taste. if I had only been a couple times in my life, I perhaps would not have noticed, but I go there a lot,This is a game changer for me. You don’t compromise the tortillas at a Tex-mex restaurant. Also Fajitas used to come with green bell pepper and onion and a couple jalapeños. There was only a little onion.

If you know what you're getting with Pappasitos, you won't be disappointed. What you're going to get is crowded, loud, fast service, reliably good (no better, no worse), expensive Mexican food. During normal human mealtimes, holding a conversation is difficult due to the noise level and number of folks they've engineered into the dining room. And the fact that there's no noise cancelling of any sort going on.

Food was good, the servers were busy ...in a rush and hard to ask for something. The atmosphere was loud and a bit obnoxious with a half a dozen birthday attention getters that were demanding everyone's attention forcing such a pause in thought and your own table's conversation. Unintentionally rude for them so much that we didn't tell them we were there celebrating a birthday. Too much overkill in loud distracting atmosphere even for us who like to have fun. Through out our entire meal we had to repeat normal conversation causing us to leave immediately before some of us finished our meal, taking my special needs daughter's food to go. Not recommended for all people. No I would not recommend this to everyone. Thank you

My fiancé and I came here tonight and for a Saturday they were pretty packed so we 100% expected a wait which we were told world be 25-30 minutes. Not a problem we just scooted over to the bar and ordered a drink for the wait. The drinks we ordered were an old fashion and a dirty martini. Both couldn’t have been worst. It was like they put water in a glass then topped it off with half a bottle of olive juice then the other tasted like a shot of fireball. We babied our drinks and waited for seating. After 45 minutes we gave in and started looking at the menu. The food tasted amazing I just ordered the wrong thing so no fault to the chefs at all because even the wrong thing was great. We had concerns food was passed from one persons plate to another because each time I received guacamole it was a semi mashed avocado and had bits of meat from other plates. Needless to say it was sitting there also. At the end of our time here it had been 2 hours and 7 minutes of us sitting and waiting to be seated. Not too packed anymore. We went to the front and asked why we have yet to be called and all they said is sorry we have one more table before we can get to you. This was to experience for most black families we saw there. We know because they were at the bar and waiting outside like the rest of us. I can’t believe this is the service we would receive and I’m still trying to process the whole experience. Truly terrible to be treated that way.

INSPECT YOUR FOOD BEFORE EATING! Update In trying to resolve the issue with Kim Stine of the Pappas Company , to no avail. I now firmly believe the object was planted and the company does not care because I am black. I truly hate being mistreated and slighted. The Pappas company may not care, but my health is a priority and I will advocate for myself. Formal litigation may be my only way to any real resolve and companies always wonder why people sue- it seems to be the only way to make them take notice, sadly. ------ I used to love Pappasitos until I discovered a huge piece of tape in my food and I think it was planted! I had a male waiter then a female waiter came over. I told her I already gave my order. She said they were helping each other. I said I only wanted one server as I did not want to duplicate my requests the entire meal. Next thing I know the manager is digging an object out my rice, unrolls it and informs me he is embarrassed to tell me it's a huge piece of tape with red writing. To this day, no one can logically explain how it got there. Coincidence?! I don't know but it's ruined my mental health, I'm almost scared to eat out and I've stopped eating rice. I just play it back over and over. I ate rice that had been contaminated, I've never had such a terrible thing happen when dining out. Not to mention as I began to cry in the resteraunt after this took place, the same female waitress came near my table and gave me a blank stare and didn't acknowledge me, further fueling my suspicion.
