We had an amazing experience at Pappas Bros. Bar! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was outstanding, and every member of the staff made us feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Every detail, from the presentation to the quality of the ingredients, was impressive. We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. Five stars!

It has been a long time since I last visited this place. Ten years ago, it was The place to go. I chose it this time because of its convenient location and to watch the soccer game. I ordered the Pappas Burguer which was huge, the fries were crispy, golden and made form (seems like) fresh potatoes, which I really enjoyed. Unfortunately l, the burger party had no flavor other than grease, and the lettuce was old and wilted. Overall, it was disappointing experience compared to what I remember. But hey, don't loose hope I will be back to try something different. Service can be improved, upon entry nobody to take my order or provide seating, restaurant atmosphere was ok, not too crowded, floors looked sticky.

Not a "Lunch Hour" place. It's an awkward place; you walk up to the counter to place your order and they give you your check. You don't pay, we were instructed to take it to the table and our server would pick it up. Water was initially self-serve. We sat down and a server did pick the check up and confirmed our order, then, I guess turned in our order in. It took about 30 minutes to get our food. The hamburgers were good, nothing exceptional which surprises me for the Pappas name, but the fries were great. All-in-all our lunch took about 1.5 hours so, with travel time, I was very late getting back to work. Been there, done that, not going back.

My wife and I have been coming here for several years and we enjoy their burgers. True to form, the Pappas family chain of restaurants stand out. Food quality and consistency, staff friendliness, portions, etc. They’ve always been slightly higher priced than competition, but worth it! The thing that I struggle with concerning this restaurant is the setup: you order at the counter and fill up your own drinks but still have a server once you sit down that reads your order to you (that the cashier just read to you when you ordered right before sitting down) and then asks if your meal is good during it. Of course, I feel the need to tip them and do, but it always makes me feel like I’m paying an extra X% for no reason. I wish they would switch this to a 100% counter order burger spot. This all being said, it is still worth going as it is and we continue to go. However, we don’t always feel like paying $50 for two burgers and fries. So when we don’t, we go to the Fuddruckers near the Memorial City Mall which is also owned by the Pappas family (and is WAY nicer than other Fudd locations).

Elevated Service That Redefines the Standard We visit Pappas Burger on Westheimer near the Galleria regularly, and the burgers are always on point — consistently high‑quality, flavorful, and reliable. But this visit stood out in a completely different way, and it was because of one person: Justin. From the moment he approached our table, Justin delivered service that felt far beyond what you’d expect at a typical burger spot. He confirmed our order with care, and every interaction afterward showed intention, pride, and professionalism. The details mattered to him. The way he placed our napkins and utensils. The way he presented my bottle of wine. The thoughtful judgment he used when recommending a mixed margarita for our son instead of a straight strawberry margarita — explaining that the strawberry alone would be too sweet without the lime. Our waters and tea stayed full without us asking. He brought to‑go containers proactively, anticipating our needs before we voiced them. Throughout the meal, he made us feel like we were the only table he was serving, even though the restaurant was active. When we complimented him on the elevated service, he responded with something that perfectly captured his approach: “It is a fine dining establishment. You’re getting a premium burger, so you should get premium service.” That level of pride and intentionality is rare. Justin isn’t just doing a job — he’s modeling what service should look like. He should be leading training and setting the standard for others. Bringing fine‑dining principles into a burger restaurant is a missed opportunity for many places, but Justin proves how powerful it can be when done well. We already loved the food. This visit made us appreciate the experience. Justin delivered service that elevated the entire meal, and it’s the kind of service that keeps people coming back.
