  Superb steakhouse, very traditional. The 36oz Tomahawk was the highlight. Warning - the dessert portion sizes are humongous, its good for 3 (normal) people!

  Our Anniversary Dinner — Texas-Sized and Delicious! Today was our anniversary, a very special date, So off to Pappas Bros. we went to celebrate! On Westheimer we arrived, both hungry and bright, Ready for good food and a wonderful night. ❤️🥂 First came the bread—and GOODNESS, OH MY! That Texas-sized loaf nearly blocked out the sky! 😂 Crunchy outside, warm and tender within, I took one little bite…and went right back again! I chewed very slowly, with dignity and pride, While secretly guarding the bread by my side. I didn’t want other diners staring with envy— “Look at that lady! Her bread looks heavenly!” 😄 Then came the STEAK, the star of the show, And Pappas knows steak from A down to Z, you know! Tender and juicy, with flavor so deep, The kind of good steak your taste buds want to keep. Freshness and flavor in every great bite, Seasoned and cooked till everything’s right. I’ve eaten good steaks, but one thing is true: Pappas, when it comes to steak, I keep coming back to YOU! Then asparagus arrived, so crisp and so green, Some of the freshest that I’ve ever seen! I wondered aloud, “Did the gardener just say, ‘Quick! Pick this asparagus—they ordered today!’?” 😂 Then cheesy au gratin potatoes appeared, And suddenly sharing was something I feared! Creamy and cheesy, they melted away— My fork kept returning, with nothing to say. 😄 And just when I thought, “There’s no room for a treat,” Along came a cheesecake so gloriously sweet! As big as Texas! I nearly cried, “Do we eat this dessert…or move inside?” 😂 Creamy and dreamy, deliciously made, Worth every calorie—and every fork raid! My stomach said, “STOP!” but my heart answered, “NO!” When cheesecake tastes THAT good, you simply must go! 😄 But wonderful food is just part of the story, The staff deserves plenty of praise and glory. From beautiful hostesses greeting with cheer, To handsome, attentive servers always near. Warm and professional, friendly and bright, They gave our anniversary that extra delight. There’s a feel-good vibe from the whole Pappas crew— The kind that makes customers want to come back to you. Because dining is more than the food on your plate, It’s how people make you feel while you celebrate. And Pappas Bros. understands it just right— Great food, great people, one memorable night. Best food? YES! Best service? YES! Best dining experience?   I’ve always considered this restaurant one of the finest in Houston, truly above average in both food and service. What happened yesterday, though, felt like an exception. Normally, the staff shows genuine pride in working there, but this time, maybe because of the Labor Day crowds, the service didn’t match their usual standard. The waiter seemed unfamiliar with the menu and the suggestions weren’t very helpful. Even the food, for the first time, didn’t quite meet the high expectations set by previous visits. That said, I still believe this place deserves its reputation. Small variations can happen anywhere, especially during busy times, and my many past experiences remind me why I can still recommend it wholeheartedly.

  The moment you step into Pappas Bros., the refined, elegant ambiance wraps you in luxury—think soft lighting, classic decor, and a bar serving stellar cocktails like a perfectly balanced dirty vodka tonic. We arrived during a busy Friday evening, but the staff moved seamlessly, ensuring our large group felt effortlessly catered to. The ribeye was juicy and flavorful, though the initial one was leaner than expected—quickly replaced with no fuss. Sides like the au gratin potatoes and creamed spinach were rich and spot-on. Portions are generous, but prices lean upscale (the Manhattan at $24 caught our attention). Parking was straightforward nearby. One small note: the cocktail menu’s premium pricing might be a slight hurdle for some, but the overall experience—stellar service, top-notch steak, and a touch of class—makes it worth every penny.

  Pappas Bros. Steakhouse has always been a special restaurant for me. When I first came to Houston 19 years ago, this was the very first steakhouse I visited. Everything felt Texas-sized, and at the time, it was the best steak I had ever had. Nearly two decades later, it remains one of our go-to restaurants whenever we want a great steak and a memorable evening. We recently returned to celebrate our anniversary, and once again, Pappas Bros. did not disappoint. We started with their warm bread, followed by a dozen fresh East Coast oysters. For our main course, we shared the bone-in ribeye, cooked perfectly medium rare, along with mushrooms and Brussels sprouts. Everything was excellent. We finished the evening with a delicious cheesecake—the perfect ending to a wonderful anniversary dinner. What has kept us coming back all these years is not just the consistently excellent food, but also the outstanding service and classic steakhouse atmosphere. After 19 years, Pappas Bros. Steakhouse is still one of our Houston favorites. Highly recommended!
