  Pleasurable Mother’s Day lunch. The restaurant was very busy as expected for the day. However the service was good, the dirty martini was fantastic and the food and deserts were decadent. Very consistently restaurant experience as always expected!

  Attempted to place an order online and the website would not accept the payment. Called the restaurant and was placed on hold for an hour, spoke to someone claiming to be a hostess 3 times and she kept placing me back on hold, as soon as I asked to speak with her manager she disconnected the call. Completely unprofessional. Came to the restaurant and asked for the manager, the manager tells me that there is no to go server taking calls (why didn’t the hostess say that) When I walked in all the to go servers looked like they were huddled around her as if they did not know how to conduct themselves without her holding their hand and giving instructions. The claim made by the manager was that because it’s Mother’s Day that they are so busy. Busy to me looks like a packed restaurant both inside and outside with a long line of people waiting to be seated. I saw several available seats inside, no one is sitting outside, and there is no line.

  We came here for a birthday lunch! We had 14 people but the table only provided 10 seats and we couldn’t hold tables for the latecomers. It eventually got taken and we had to pull some chairs to squeeze. We would’ve preferred if there could’ve been better accommodation for that in the future for large parties. We ordered fresh and cooked oysters, both delicious. It had a great layout and the quality was very fresh. The octopus was also fun to try! I ordered the chefs selection of Rainbow trout and crab. It was a large portion and very delicious. No complaints, and the squash tasted wonderful! Others ordered poboys, the seafood pasta, etouffee, gumbo, and others which also all looked delicious! The food is great. Our service could have definitely been better though. We had to ask repeatedly for waters to be refilled, and when the rest of the party came, no new silverware or drinks were brought out originally. We also had a birthday, and asked for the free dessert which is great. However the server did not ask if we wanted it to go or there so she gave it to us takeout and we had wanted to sing there. Overall, the food quality and atmosphere was great! We would’ve just appreciated better service, but I understand it’s different from each employee. Highly recommend the blackened trout with jumbo crab.

  Simisola was fantastic! We were worried about coming out on Cinco De Mayo and are so happy we came out. She made it a great experience and was very friendly. First Pappadeux experience in Houston and we will be back at this location because of her. The shrimp was salty but that had nothing to do with her. Customer service was so good we didn’t mind!

  I had a frustrating experience picking up a to-go order recently. Today I placed a togo order at 10:30 for 11:00 a.m. pick up. I did not receive my order until 11:30 after walking in the restaurant. The younger staff on duty came across extremely unprofessional. There was a lot of inattentiveness and lack of urgency, which made the wait much longer than it should have been. One young woman in particular was repeatedly walking in and out of the restaurant laughing, which didn’t reflect much awareness of customers waiting. And it looked very much like a marijuana packet in her hand. At the same time, the to-go phone was ringing without being answered, because I called, and several staff members appeared to be standing around and lounging instead of assisting customers. I understand that things can get busy, but basic customer service and communication go a long way. A simple acknowledgment or update would have made a big difference. Instead, I was left waiting without any clear information about my order. I hope management takes the time to better train staff on professionalism, attentiveness, and customer service, because experiences like this can really impact whether customers choose to return. And lastly my food was COLD! Worst experience ever. And they still got tipped!
