The only actively bad experience I've had with service while dining out. If tbey make a mistake, you- the customer- are liable.
Service was already feeling weird by the time we sat down. Oddly cold, quick, like we were bothering them and they just wanted the interaction to be over with. Whatever, we order and move on.
Right around the time appetizers come out, someone comes along and confidently delivers garlic bread to the table. Very nice, super appreciated, and having bread come out with a meal isn't out of the ordinary. It isn't until the bills come around that the server comes back to ask who will be paying for the garlic bread. Apparently, it was supposed to go to a different table, but ended up with us instead. Now it was our responsibility to pay for the food that they brought out by mistake. Manager insisted that this was our mistake, and the bill could not be paid until I accepted the charge.
The entire experience was weirdly standoff-ish, even before the issue with the bill. Food tasted good but I wouldn't come back to this location specifically.

Omggg where do I start 🤔 Great services and the waiter and the manager made sure my son fish allergy wasn't a priority. He loved his grilled chicken salad and my food was great. We appreciate the services thank ya'll.

I was in town to attend the Dream Con event at the convention center, so figured the restaurant would be busy and there would be a wait. The staff was on point from the young lady at the front of the house to our server Stephen. Service was amazing.
Our dinner was great as well. The appetizer was served hot and not too long after my drink arrived. The crispy salmon and jumbo crab is delicious! I highly recommend it.
I didn't stay for dessert but I did take a piece of key lime pie home. My nephew was celebrating his birthday so he had a slice of cheesecake. Overall, a wonderful experience.

I liked my food.
Drinks were good, we got one that had Hennessy and Grand Marnier, it was worth the price.
My sister ordered a "shrimp cocktail", she got about 6 shrimp on ice!
A little cup of sauce with horseradish.
Don't expect a regular shrimp cocktail.

My family and I had one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've ever had at the Pappadeaux near the George R. Brown Convention Center.
My husband originally wanted to eat at the Webster Pappas Seafood location, but it was extremely crowded. I called this downtown location to ask if reservations were available, and the employee I spoke with was very friendly and accommodating. Since I planned to bring our entire family, I specifically asked whether this location was family-friendly because I didn't want to arrive at a restaurant that catered more to nightlife or bar patrons. I was assured that it was a family restaurant and that the only real difference was the style of cooking—they explained that this location serves Cajun-style food, while the other Pappas Seafood locations season their food more simply with salt and pepper.
Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there.
We had no idea there was a FIFA event downtown that day. Traffic was overwhelming, and when we finally arrived at the restaurant, there was no parking available. We asked the staff where we should park and were simply told to park "around the corner." That ended up being nearly a 20-minute walk to the restaurant.
This was especially difficult because I suffer from vein disease in my right leg, making long walks painful. My mother-in-law was wearing heels because we were celebrating a special occasion, and during the walk she twisted her ankle.
When we finally made it inside, we were seated at a high-top table in the bar area despite having four young children with us. I immediately explained that the seating was not appropriate for our family. Thankfully, the manager corrected the situation by moving us to a regular table and offering us a complimentary appetizer, which we appreciated.
Unfortunately, the food experience became even worse.
Shortly after eating, my oldest son became nauseated, and my husband had to take him to the restroom where he vomited. He returned to the table but refused to eat anything else.
His twin brother then developed a severe headache while eating, and once we arrived home, he began vomiting as well.
My youngest son also became sick and vomited after we returned to the car.
My mother-in-law and nephew both complained that they felt sick to their stomachs and went straight to bed after getting home because they felt so ill.
I personally avoided eating much because my soup tasted sour, and after tasting it, I couldn't continue eating my meal.
The worst came later that evening when my husband developed a fever and spent the entire night vomiting until around noon the following day.
As if that wasn't enough, while my mother-in-law was helping the children in the restroom, I specifically told the hostess not to clear our table because I was retrieving our vehicles. When my mother-in-law returned, our food, belongings, and everything at the table had already been thrown away despite my clear instructions.
I contacted corporate immediately to report everything that occurred because this experience was completely unacceptable.
Between the parking issues, inappropriate seating for a family with small children, multiple members of my family becoming ill after eating, my husband's fever and prolonged vomiting, and our belongings being discarded after specifically asking staff not to touch our table, this was not just a disappointing dinner—it was a terrible experience from beginning to end.
Corporate's offer of a $250 credit is simply not an appropriate resolution. I paid approximately $500 in cash for this meal. My family did not receive the experience or the meal we paid for, and several family members became ill afterward.
I am requesting a full refund of the money I paid. I hope Pappadeaux will take this matter seriously and make this right for my family.
