  My family and I came to downtown to have a family day with our kids. We decided to visit this Papadeaux location. We have been here many times on dates and as a family. The two hostess did not greet us. When they finally stopped staring at us I said we would need a table for 6. 2 adults 4 young kids. The restaurant hardly had anyone in it. Plenty of empty tables on each side. They said they had to clean a table off. We said ok that was fine. Even though it was plenty of tables. We stood for a while as servers on each side were waiting and still did not get seated. We ended up leaving. I would hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. This felt like discrimination like we inconvenienced the hostess. We weren’t rude or mean.

  Higher than normal prices for a Pappadeaux, less than normal menu. This is because of the convention center location. Don’t bother coming here without a reservation. For walk ins they either won’t seat you or won’t serve you. Has happened to me twice now. Lots better choices downtown.

  Camari is an amazing waitress. It was our second visit and she remembered us! Great customer service and has a great memory/understanding of the menu. Made great suggestions. Thank you for ensuring our evening was perfect!

  At 250+ pounds, my legal beer intake is about 5 beers per hour. All I had to do was walk across the street back to the Hilton. I had 4 beers in 2 hours, half the driving limit between 1 to 3 pm while watching softball plus ordered appetizers, and main course, $160 in total for 2 people. The food wasn't worth the disrespect of being denied a beer.

  I’ve been coming to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen for over 7 years because of the consistently high standards in service, food, and cleanliness. Unfortunately, this recent visit was very disappointing. My guest and I are both in the service industry, and we’re easy, respectful diners. We don’t rush, we tip well, and we genuinely enjoy the experience. Our bill was $312 for two people, which is typical for us here, we usually spend more than that per visit. In the service industry, that’s a perfect ticket two top with a high total, getting entrées, appetizers, à la carte items, and dessert plus drinks. Despite having a very small section, our server seemed inconvenienced from the start. There was no warmth or engagement, and we were made to feel like a burden rather than valued guests. Her attitude was very unpleasant the entire experience. Service timing was also off. We specifically asked for our salads and appetizers together, with salads first, but everything came out of order. Our salads were brought last—after appetizers and entrées—throwing off the entire flow of the meal and causing our food to get cold. I’m not looking to get anyone in trouble, but this experience did not reflect the standard that has kept us coming back for years. This has always been our favorite location, which is why this visit stood out in the worst way.
