It's convenient, has a wide variety of products, and I usually prefer shopping here over Kroger. One of my favorite features is the self-serve station where you can grind your own fresh peanut butter with the push of a button. They also have fresh wildflower honey, which I pick up almost every time I shop. Those little things make H-E-B stand out from other grocery stores. The produce and meat selection is usually very good, but it can be inconsistent. I've had days where everything looked fresh, and other times the regular bananas looked bruised while the organic ones looked much better. On this visit, I also noticed a few shelves that hadn't been fully restocked. This location can get busy, especially around holidays. Sometimes checkout is quick, while other times the lines can be a little longer depending on how many registers are open. Overall, H-E-B has been a staple in Houston for a reason. They offer good prices, quality products, and a great selection. Even with a few stocking issues from time to time, it's still one of my favorite places to shop. I definitely recommend it. Update: I also appreciate the pull-tab cans and wish more products had them—they’re especially helpful for people with limited use of one hand.
