- VJValerie Jaime3 days ago1.0Bought crawfish and shrimp outside. The crawfish was okay but the shrimp was mushy and sour so I went back and spoke to a manager about a refund. The first manager that helped me was rude and condescending. She accused me of not even buying it and claimed they weren’t even selling shrimp outside and that they don’t even have tap to pay. She couldn’t find my card on file and said there was nothing she could do, i told her I had just bought it and even pointed out the worker I got it from. She went and talked to him and came back and she said “ well he doesn’t remember you” I said “ okay but I remember him and I tapped my card he never handed me a receipt and then he took the next customer” I talked to the other manager and she was super friendly and helpful. She explained that sometimes it takes a while for payments to come into the system and that if it didn’t work she would give me a gift card. A gift card was given to me and we both walked outside to see if they did take tap as payment and the guy outside said yes, they were also told to make sure to hand out receipts so that this doesn’t happen again. I’m super unhappy and have never been accused of not buying anything. I’m super disappointed because that’s my favorite HEB.

Increasing a product’s price just to mark it as a “deal” and bring it back down to what is essentially the normal price, especially when other stores are already selling it for $5.98, is misleading and feels like clear price manipulation. This is not what customers expect from H-E-B, and it reflects poorly on management. It should absolutely be addressed. It won’t take long for customers to notice, and practices like this can quickly erode trust in a company that people rely on. This seems like a result of poor decision-making, and it’s frustrating to see.
