**Feges BBQ – Long Point Area**
I’ve passed **Feges BBQ** a few times and finally decided to stop in when a serious BBQ craving hit. I brought my 16-year-old son along for the quest.
The place itself is nice and roomy, and the menu was pretty easy to interpret. My kid went with the sliced brisket sandwich and a side of seasoned fries. They offer a few sausage options—hot links, mild, and paprika—and I was pretty hyped to try the hot links. Unfortunately, they were out that day, and I later realized all of their sausages are pork-based anyway, which took a little wind out of my sails.
So I pivoted and ordered lean brisket and smoked turkey with sides of Charro Beans and Spicy Korean Braised Greens.
The brisket was tender and flavorful, exactly what you want from good Texas BBQ. The turkey was cooked just right and had a really nice smoky flavor. The Korean braised greens definitely slapped my mouth with a good kick of spice, which I appreciated. The Charro Beans also had a little heat to them, which made them more interesting than your typical BBQ beans.
One small gripe: I wish restaurants would list the added ingredients in their bean dishes. Is it pork? Beef? Something else? Sure, I could ask—and if it were a serious concern, I would—but it’s still a courtesy to guests who might forget to ask and have legitimate reasons for avoiding certain meats.
They also had a trio of BBQ sauces: Texas Gold (mustard-based…not my thing), Alabama White (mayo-based…what even is happening there?), and Sweet Red. I’m old-school and stuck in my ways—give me something close to a classic red sauce and I’m happy. The Sweet Red delivered and paired nicely with the brisket.
My son gave his sandwich a solid thumbs-up and said the seasoning on the fries was the cherry on top.
All in all, the craving was satisfied and I got to try a new BBQ spot. That’s always a good day.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while since I pass it often. I got the two meats two sides combo plate with brisket, pork rib, sweet and spicy sprouts, and spicy braised greens.
I started off on the sprouts and finished them completely before even touching the meats. They were excellent, solid 9/10.
Braised greens were alright. They weren’t very spicy at all. Personally not a fan of the flavor profile, so I give it a 6/10.
Pork rib was just seasoned enough, maybe a tad too subtle, but tender enough to where I can get to the marrow if I wanted. 7/10. In fact, the rating directly translates to how seasoned the rib was compared to how I wanted it to be… 70%.
Brisket was a straight up 5.5/10… maybe my expectations were high looking at it. I liked the pepper crust but beyond that the seasoning pretty much did not penetrate the meat at all and also the meat was ROUGH. Not tender, kind of dry. The marbling did so much heavy lifting here.
Value… 6/10. I would say one piece of 2 types of meat for $25 compared to other bbq spots is a little questionable. Buuut that’s just me.
I liked the variety of barbecue sauces and pickled items, although I like my bbq sauces much more acidic/vinegary. Good but nothing to write home about.
All in all, decent for a neighborhood spot but if you drive out 15 minutes further I can name at least 3 spots that are better.
