  There was so much to find in this gem of a store. I'll definitely come back more often for those international foods I can't easily locate. I spent way more time than intended exploring this place and loved every moment.

  For some time now (maybe a few months), the area around the wine, chocolates, chips, that area, has a strong smell... like apple cider vinegar. It's very off-putting. The first time I smelled it, I thought there had been a spill. But upon my umpteenth time visiting Central Market, the smell is still there. It is strong. It stinks really. Like what is that smell? I can't shop in peace because the smell is so overpowering. Also, once again, at the coffee bar, I see a man with his dog... and a big dog at that. And no, it was not a service dog. Why are dogs allowed in the store? How can we make sure the only dogs in are for those who actually have a diagnosed condition that permits it?

  Man what can I say this Central Market hands down is the best Central Market of all locations in Texas period I've visited all from SA,ATX,Dallas can't be compared the only thing they do not have is the ice cream stand but on the hand they have all the best ice cream selections with all the favors available. The Deli is better than any sub place and the cook food is seasoned well, tasty, cook properly it's great No Cap and fresh fruit of all sorts best part is free concerts occasionally and cooking lessons. The vibe is great for to refresh alone or a date, or just regular grocery shop! Definitely a gem keep it up please don't drop standards in cooking or deli. Bring back fresh whip sweet potatoes!

  It's happen again where I was treated differently because I look Mexican and indigenous, I'm an older brown skin woman with heart and lung problems and it's hard to shop when employees treat you differently than white people or black people, I tried to get something at the deli area where they have prepared foods, the central market employee a black lady there ignored me she helped the white and black customers but ignored me even when I had a number ,also a customer waiting a young black woman told the employee why are you treating me that way rudely also the young black girl that's a employee at the cafe is always rude and she does not make my drink right a green tea matcha drink and always turns her back to me while making it she's been rude to me before if you don't like Hispanic s than you should not be in customer service, im mixed with Hispanic black and white , when I went to the cashier to checkout the tall black lady was sacking my grocery's , I really don't need help with that but I appreciate it , what she did was put. One Bag in my basket got on her phone and went outside and just stood there pushing buttons on her phone, she gave me this rude look, when I came out , I felt like she did that purposely I can't understand why all this is happening with racist and discriminating central market employees , not all employees treat me like this, central market has so many good employees that are not racist , if I don't speak up how can we prevent this from happening to other customers, since I have complained so may incidents with the store manager he feels I'm the problem , I can't help the way I look Mexican and indigenous and people want to treat me bad or like a criminal, since immigration has tightened up brown skin Hispanic s are being bullied harassed, I always have to record myself for my safety , and one of the managers a young girl was lying saying I was talking to her rudely , she lied because I always record myself talking to people, not every employee is like this, the foral dept has a employee a young black woman that is so professional kind and helpful to all no matter race , people should learn from her how to treat customers, thank you floral dept and to all the employees that don't see race and help all customers

  Some days the city tells you exactly where you need to be. Today was one of those days. It was a beautiful Houston afternoon, and I found myself on the west side of the city craving nothing more than a good cup of coffee, a quiet place to read, write, and work through a few marketing emails. Somehow that journey led me to the coffee bar inside Central Market, and I’m so glad it did. There is something special about this place. The moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by the rhythm of Houston. Families shopping together, neighbors catching up, people grabbing lunch, and everyone moving with purpose. Sitting at the coffee bar allowed me to experience all of it while still finding a peaceful corner to settle into my work. It was the perfect balance between community and solitude. I have to give a heartfelt shout out to the incredible baristas who made my visit unforgettable. Evelyn, Jess, Miguel, and Sherwin welcomed me with genuine smiles and the kind of hospitality that cannot be taught. They made me feel less like a customer and more like a familiar face. Their energy was warm, joyful, and authentic, and you could tell they genuinely enjoy serving people. I ordered a double shot espresso made with KATZ Coffee, one of Houston’s finest coffee roasters, and it was exactly what I needed. Rich, smooth, and full of flavor. While I enjoyed my coffee, I had the pleasure of watching the team prepare drinks for everyone who came through the line. From handcrafted coffees to fresh smoothies, every order was made with care, precision, and a smile. It was a beautiful reminder that excellence often lives in the smallest everyday moments. To Evelyn, Jess, Miguel, and Sherwin, thank you for filling my cup today, literally and figuratively. I hope this review pours a little encouragement back into yours. And to my fellow Houstonians and anyone visiting our beautiful city, do yourself a favor and stop by the Central Market coffee bar. Come for the coffee, stay for the people, and leave reminded that great hospitality is still alive and well in Houston. Five stars across the board.
