Today the cashier and the manager refused to sell me cigarettes after looking at my ID. They told me it looked like I glued a picture on there!!!!!??. This is ridiculous , I have used this same id to purchase smokes for months at this location. They even refused to scan it to make sure it’s real! Hondo heb has officially lost my business. I’ve never been so insulted or embarrassed in my life. Management definitely needs to change before I’d consider returning.

I have never purchased so many expired items from the Hondo HEB store in all of my years shopping there than I have over the past several months. When you're on a limited budget and live a reasonable distance away, this is beyond frustrating. Today, it was expired Ballpark beef hotdogs and moldy HEB brand tortillas that were dated April 29th yet sold on May 1st. Last time it was a box of Hostess coffee cakes that were more than 2 months past the expiration date. I have also purchased a gallon of milk that was within the expiration date, yet it was spoiled and unfortunately consumed by a family member inside of their morning coffee. This resulted in missed time at work as it made him instantly sick. Prior to that, it was a slimy/discolored salad kit. I had been checking most of my items within my shopping cart today because of this occurring more than just a few times in recent months, but with an order that was quite large I obviously missed a few today. I don't know if it's the fault of the product merchandisers or HEB's in-house workers, but this has truly become a really big problem. I had spoken with management the last time and they just told me to go retrieve the same item and bring it back to them. When I returned, the manager was no longer around and no one else knew where the original item that I had brought back to store even went. I should add, that the rest of the coffee cakes on the shelves had the identical expiration date and were expired for 2 months also. I would also be curious to know who decided to do away with the deli counter? I know of no HEB in Southern Texas operating without a deli, with nothing but pre-cut turkey, ham and cheese on-hand. This town has grown considerably and our HEB has really gone downhill. I don't even leave reviews, but this one was a no-brainer.
