Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

- JCJoe Collvins2 days ago1.0Extremely disappointing experience at Whataburger today. I actually watched an employee slide a chicken filet across the counter before it was handed to someone to put on a sandwich. That was already concerning enough, especially when handling food should be done properly and hygienically. We also specifically ordered our sandwiches face-to-face with an employee because we wanted to make sure the order was correct. Somehow, the sandwiches were STILL made incorrectly. We brought them back inside to have the mistakes corrected, and instead of simply fixing the order, we were told we would need to buy the two slices of cheese that we already paid for. Meanwhile, there were 5–6 employees standing around chatting, joking, and cutting up while customers were waiting for their food. Mistakes happen. I understand that. But the combination of improper food handling, incorrect orders, not correcting them, trying to charge us again for something we already paid for, and employees standing around while customers waited made this a genuinely frustrating experience. I expect better from Whataburger, and after this experience, I’ll definitely think twice before coming back.
