One of the few restaurants in San Antonio/Helotes that has an outdoor playground and grassy area for kids to play. The outdoor seating near the kids playground is shaded naturally by large trees and sometimes they have live music. The servers are nice and attentive without being overbearing. The food is good and prices are reasonable except for the guacamole. The menu listed guacamole as market price and I was shocked to receive the bill where one side of guacamole cost $8.99. It cost more than the whole kids meal. They do bring complimentary bean soup & chips and salsa to the table, but the tortilla chips needed more salt. There was a woman celebrating her birthday nearby and they put a big sombrero hat on her head and sang to her so that was festive and nice. Overall, I recommend this restaurant!
Picked up an order to go for a birthday dinner. A fajitas PLATTER, the size was minimal, DEFINETLY NOT platter size! The fajitas were cut into tiny 1” cubes & they were tough. Also a Paula’s Taco Salad, all we got was shredded chicken, lettuce & sour cream, no cheese, no tomatoes, & a tiny spoonful container of guacamole. Also an order of Flaco‘s quesadilla & it was complete. A very MINIMAL handful of chips but no salsa. Very disappointed in the quality of the food compared to what it has been in the past years of service. Do better.

This place went waaaaay downhill. Used to be great, but over last year or so just worse and worse. Went on 6/20/26, and food was bad, tortilla chips were nasty, our server Jose Luis O was very rude and had bad attitude entire time. Absolutely horrible experience. Jose Luis didn't say thank you at any time, we would ask for something and he would just walk away, he left our drinks empty, and clearly does not care about his job or the customer service...
We were a friendly party of eight, long time customers, and between the food going downhill and is horrible customer service we will likely never be back.
It's sad to see an award-winning restaurant go absolutely downhill. New management is too focused on profits and don't care about the guest experience.

First our waiter was extremely nice and got a very good tip because of it!!
There was a band three Gentlemen playing all a lil classic rock but most country and sing it as well. It was so relaxing they're very talented
Our food was fantastic everyone at my table finished they're plates.
Thanks for our fantastic dinner!!

Lol, the people y'all hire (at least the ones who answer the phone, when y'all actually choose to answer, which is almost NEVER), are astoundingly rude. I just called to ask something about a dish I ordered online, and the woman who answered sighed like I had asked her for her firstborn child (I was just asking if it came with salad so I could remove it if so). No greeting, no nothing. She gave me a very brusque answer, then hung up without so much as a howdy do. Damn. I didn't realize the hiring pickings were THAT slim for Helotes 😭 I was born and raised here, and my mom worked at this location. Things sure have gone downhill.
