Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Burger and onion rings were good. It was the teen scammer in there claiming he was scared to leave the building because people want to beat him up outside and he is real hungry. I offered to call his parents, cops or 911. He refused and asked that a meal be bought for him. I refused but he hopped over to another table and suckered them in to buying him a full meal.

John was awesome! We have never been to What a burger before. He was so welcoming and polite. He made great recommendations as well. We were also delight d on the level of service he provided. He brought condiments out to us and all the other people that he took orders from. On top of that the food was fantastic.

We came to Texas and knew we had to try Whataburger—and it absolutely lived up to the hype! From the moment we walked in, John made our experience unforgettable. He took our order, and his customer service was hands down the best part of our visit. There’s something special about being treated so well that even if the food hadn’t been great, the experience still would have been worth it.
Thankfully, the food was amazing too! I usually don’t even eat fries, but these were so good. And the spicy ketchup… oh my goodness! I totally get why people rave about it now. And we got our food before we even finished filling up our drinks. Crazy.
Excellent food, outstanding customer service, and an all-around fantastic first Whataburger experience. John, you’re the man!

Chris the manager on 6/20/2026 around 11:40 pm made a cold burger, had them remake it and instead of remaking the burger he just threw everything in the microwave, lied about it and refused to make another one then told me he make $80k a year for some reason. Horrible experience.

There is NO atmosphere so no comments on that. EVERY Thing was below average. I grew up in 50’s-60’s Whataburger was king. Huge delicious burgers and fries!
Every single burger joint nowadays sucks.
I so surprised that Cheddars provides a truly grilled 1/2 lb er (after being cooked by the way). So forget whataburger even after paying a couple of extra bucks you’ll be glad you did. Stop being disappointed like the lady that spent $150 on truly JUNK food!!!
I wish I could have us all stop patronizing these sorry places for just one week. I guarantee you they would make changes or close up
Forgot to mention the children that “work” there could give a rats booty about the customers. They were horse playing and throwing the customer’s orders on to the window!!!
