If I could give less than one star, I would.
I have been a customer of this location for nearly a year and a half, stopping in about once a week while I’m in town for work. During that time, I’ve noticed recurring issues with food availability, staffing, and customer service. As a business owner myself, I understand that every business has challenges, so I’ve always tried to be patient and extend grace.
Unfortunately, my experience this past Wednesday changed that.
Because the line was long, I placed my usual order through the app and waited in the online pickup area. An employee asked for my name, and I gave it to him. When he returned, I mentioned I didn’t need a bag since I only had one item. He immediately became argumentative, insisting it had to be in a bag because it was a DoorDash order. I calmly explained it was not a DoorDash order.
When he handed me the bag, I realized it wasn’t my order. As I tried to return it, the bag accidentally fell to the floor. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, he insisted I had told him the name was “Jessica.” With all due respect, “Darryl” and “Jessica” sound nothing alike. It was clearly a misunderstanding.
I explained that had he not been so focused on loudly complaining and speaking rudely, he likely would have heard the correct name. Before this interaction even began, he had been loudly saying, “If one more person orders a quesadilla, I’m sick of making quesadillas!” No customer should ever hear that—especially from a General Manager.
Another employee stepped in and explained that I am a regular customer who comes in every week, orders the same item, and always orders online or in person—not through DoorDash. Despite that, he continued arguing and told me, “I’m not serving you or giving you anything.”
When I asked for the food I had already paid for, he refused. When I requested a refund, he told me I would have to handle it online. I also requested the corporate phone number or the owner’s contact information, and he refused to provide it. Thankfully, another employee stepped in, provided the appropriate contact information, and even handed me his business card. That was when I learned the individual treating me this way was the General Manager, Omar.
This entire interaction took place in front of a lobby full of customers.
As a fellow business owner, I cannot imagine allowing anyone on my staff—especially a manager—to treat a paying customer with this level of disrespect, hostility, and unprofessionalism. Leadership sets the standard, and what I witnessed reflected extremely poor leadership.
After reading other reviews, it appears this is not an isolated incident but part of a pattern involving this location. That makes it even more disappointing that this behavior has apparently been allowed to continue.
This experience has permanently cost this location a loyal customer. I will not be returning.
This matter will not end with this review. I fully intend to escalate this incident to the highest levels within the company. If there is a franchise owner, district manager, regional manager, or any other level of leadership responsible for overseeing this location, I will be contacting them as well. Accountability begins with leadership, and customers deserve to be treated with professionalism, courtesy, and respect—especially by those entrusted to lead a team.
I sincerely hope the appropriate leadership conducts a thorough review of this incident, addresses the concerns surrounding the management of this location, and takes the necessary steps to ensure other customers do not have a similar experience.
