Taco Restaurant
The True Texas Tacos concept, which H-E-B launched in San Antonio in 2018, showcases a menu of more than a dozen breakfast and specialty tacos made with the freshest ingredients. Tacos range from traditional Tex-Mex offerings such as bacon & egg and bean & cheese to specialty bites such as barbacoa and chopped Texas brisket. Customers can even get creative, mixing ingredients to make their own unique, specialty tacos. All flour tortillas are made in house and corn tortillas are available upon request. And for that extra spicy kick, there’s a salsa bar with several spicy sauces and taco-appropriate condiments.

Unfortunately, it seems the workers are getting fatigued with the process, as the past 4 times my husband or I have picked up our taco order, we were met with frustration. Despite that, the food is delicious.

Lately, they haven’t been starting on our order until I ask them about it. The expediter always comes off as extremely annoyed. Apparently the DoorDash orders are in a separate queue? This has been happening for a few months. The reason for the review: it seems like the grumpy expediter is escalating. For the past two weeks she didn’t announce my order when it was ready. Last week it sat behind the counter until I went up and asked. This week, I watched as she told an employee to put it in the warmer, even though I was standing right there. I had to go up and ask. The tacos aren’t good enough to justify dealing with such a difficult person. I haven’t had a single positive interaction with her.
