  On May 18, 2026, my husband visited the Georgetown, Texas H-E-B location on University Boulevard to purchase flowers for our anniversary. Because we have cats, he specifically asked the florist whether the bouquet contained lilies. I have educated him on the severe toxicity lilies pose to cats, including the risk of acute kidney failure and death, which is why he always confirms this before purchasing flowers. The florist assured him that the arrangement did not contain lilies. Unfortunately, after bringing the bouquet home, we discovered that the arrangement in fact contained lilies along with roses. Our cats were subsequently exposed and now require emergency veterinary care due to this exposure. This situation is deeply upsetting and entirely preventable. A bouquet costing over $70 should not be sold with inaccurate information regarding its contents, especially when a direct question was asked specifically for pet safety reasons. It is concerning that a florist responsible for creating and selling arrangements was unable to correctly identify lilies. This is also not the first negative interaction we have had with this floral department. In April, during a visit for my birthday, my husband again asked whether an arrangement contained lilies. At that time, he was reportedly told by a florist that “it’s not my job to tell you what is toxic or not.” That response was disappointing and not reflective of the level of customer care and professionalism I would expect from H-E-B. I strongly encourage H-E-B to consider the following corrective actions moving forward: Educate floral staff on the flowers and plants included in arrangements Clearly label arrangements containing toxic plants such as lilies, sago palms, oleander, and similar species that pose risks to pets. This has been done at other grocers like Costco. Encourage floral employees to engage with customers regarding arrangement contents and potential safety concerns when asked I find this situation extremely concerning. Many pet owners may not know the dangers associated with lilies, and inaccurate information from staff places animals at unnecessary risk.

  While I was reviewing my receipt, I noticed the cashier had not scanned my coupon. When I asked him to do it, he was very put out. No apologies. I’m getting used to this kind of service at H-E-B.

  Absolutely loved this location when it first opened. Unfortunately, now the produce is always the worst in the area. With so many HEBs available, this location has the most picked-over, low stock, and already spoiled produce. It is especially worse using curbside. So much just goes in the trash, something nobody can afford to do these days. Sad and disappointing for HEB standards.

  I rarely buy from H.E.B because they are extremely expensive. However, when I need a cultural item no one else carries, I will buy the rest of my groceries from H.E.B I need for the week. The huge downside is, the last several times I purchased a bulk order of groceries from this location, I ended up with a pantry or flour beetle infestation. Most of the $300 I just spent at this place is down the drain because I have to throw away everything and disinfect my pantry and kitchen. I will never buy groceries from here again.

  This HEB is always packed and honestly just overwhelming. Every visit feels chaotic, and people can be pretty rude which doesn’t help. What’s really frustrating though is the meat market—three visits in a row and they’ve been out of lamb loin chops. We shop here every couple of weeks, so it’s not just bad timing at this point. Kind of makes you wonder what the point of the meat counter is if they’re always “out.” Overall just disappointing
