Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

- RORonny OngSep 6, 20261.0I've eaten at a lot of Whataburger locations, on a weekly basis for over 40 years, all over Texas, including urban, suburban, and rural locations. Thus one is hands down the least efficient and least competent, despite having plenty of staff. Waited 24 minutes for a #1 meal, no customization. Minute Maid lemonade was out, probably to punish customers who don't pay 300% extra for the "craft" lemonade without refills. The guy working fries got waaay ahead of the kitchen, so everybody received cold, limp fries when their burgers were finally ready. And of course the employees know the trick of falsifying their Speed Of Service numbers by bumping orders off the system as soon as they've printed the ticket, but then they lose the ticket or get it soaked in grease, so then you have to tell them over and over and over what you ordered. I literally ordered the most popular, simplest thing possible, but they tried to serve me a burger with two drinks. In what world does a Whatameal consist of a burger with two drinks? I had to ask twice for ketchup because the first employee literally had no idea where to get ketchup for me. How is that even possible? Wow, one star is being generous.
