Finally tried this place out and wish I had done so sooner. First off, service was very friendly walking in the door. Placed a to-go order and got brisket, sausage, chicken, mac and cheese and green beans. Everything was delicious and particularly liked the different flavors on the brisket and mac and cheese. Looking forward to going back and trying the different sandwiches.

What a tasty surprise. We came in on a Saturday for lunch. The classic with mac’n’cheese. Sandwich was very good with sauce on the side, which is a great, I like to control my sauce: meat ratio. My boy had the B.B.King, and that was a MEAL! Looks incredible and tastes the same. I could tell my guy was in heaven, even when I could tell he was stuffed and kept on eating. Bright and inviting place, and the staff were very nice. Def check it out
Babyyyyy this hit the spot! We got us 3 VERY generous baked potatoes with brisket, mac n cheese, and a peach cobbler. It did not disappoint. The brisket was nicely chopped, but you could still see the a nice dark smoke ring on the chunks, it had a good bark, had a meaty flavor and was not over seasoned, all topped with bbq sauce, cheese, sour cream and green onions. The potatoes must be popular because we got the last 3. Sorry not sorry to the patrons after us! The kiddo and I couldn’t finish ours and will probably feed me for the next 3-4 meals and I am ok with that!! Moving on to the mac n cheese- it goes down easy cuz it’s SO cheesy. The extra seasoning on top gives it a wonderful extra flavor profile you won’t find elsewhere. Lastly the peach cobbler was like a warm hug- perfectly sweet, creamy, crunchy, buttery, cinnamony- all of it!
Sorry no pics, too busy throwing down!
We've been going to The Smith Spot since the early days. At first you might think, "Yeah, a BBQ joint run by an ex-Dallas Cowboy... this is just a stunt, right?" Nope. The barbecue at Smith Spot is, all on its own, LEG-EN-DARY.
I almost hesitated to write a review because I don't want people taking the last brisket before I get there. Every meat on the menu is outstanding, but the brisket is simply incomparable. I've eaten at just about every BBQ place around Garland, and Smith Spot is still my favorite. The bark has just the right amount of seasoning, there's a beautiful smoke ring, and every slice is incredibly tender, juicy, and smoked to perfection. The sausage has that perfect snap, the ribs are meaty, packed with flavor, and falling off the bone, and honestly, I've never had a bad meal here.
And don't even get me started on the sides. They're all elevated without feeling fancy. The "Good Ol' Beans"? They aren't just good ol' beans. I've eaten BBQ all over the country, and what they do with this simple side dish is epic. They're perfectly cooked, and they add just a little of the brisket meat trimmings to the sauce, giving them this rich, smoky flavor that's completely out of this world.
Everyone is going to argue that their favorite BBQ place is better, and that's fine—taste is subjective. But when I can drive just a few minutes, order some of the best food I've ever put in my mouth, and spend an afternoon in a place that feels like hanging out in my neighbor's kitchen with family, I'm choosing Smith Spot every... single... time.

Honestly the only thing I could say with my first bite (of the baby boi) was “Respectfully STFU!” I was truly at a loss for words.
Every seasoning was placed intentionally, and you could truly taste the attention to detail in every bite. The flavor combinations were incredibly well thought out, creating a perfect balance that made each dish unique and memorable. You can tell a lot of care and passion goes into every ingredient combo. I can't wait to come back and try more from the menu!
Also I must say the whole place was a vibe! Decor was on brand, music was slappin, staff & atmosphere was extremely chill. We felt like we were with the fam at the Sunday cookout- although it was a normal Thursday!! 12/10!
