  I placed an online pickup order because I was in a hurry. The app stated the pickup time would be 15–20 minutes, so I even gave extra time and arrived 30 minutes later. When I got there, the staff was not very helpful, and I ended up waiting an entire hour. After asking multiple times about my order, I was finally told they were out of the bagels needed for my sandwich. So basically, my order had been sitting there the whole time unable to be completed, yet no one communicated that to me. The manager pointed to the stack of bagels needed for my sandwich and told the staff to make my order, but by that point I no longer had time to wait and requested a refund. Unfortunately, the cashier didn’t know how to process it, and the manager responded with an attitude, implying that either way I would still have to wait — whether for the order or the refund. What made the experience worse were the side comments being made about people’s “patience,” when I had already waited an hour without any communication or updates. I completely understand businesses get busy, but communication and customer service go a long way, and both were lacking today. It’s disappointing because I genuinely love Einstein Bagels, but today’s in-store experience was very frustrating.
