Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Date: July 9, 2026 Location: Whataburger Store #490
Summary of Incident:
The customer reported the following concerns regarding their order and service:
● The 4 oz. gravy container was filled approximately halfway.
● Gravy was missing from a tender meal and was not included in the bag.
● The cashier, Vanell, did not apply the discount to the ticket and initially attempted to charge the full price. After the customer identified the issue, the employee and manager( ling wing) discussed how to apply the discount.
● The customer was informed that the discounted meal would be provided at no charge due to the issue with the discount.
● The manager (ling wing) came to the front of the restaurant and spoke loudly about the discount in front of customers.
● When the customer returned to the counter to request the missing gravy, Vanell asked, “What’s your problem?”
Resolution/Follow-Up Needed:
● Review order accuracy procedures with the team to ensure all items are included and prepared correctly.
● Coach employees on applying discounts accurately.
● Reinforce expectations for professional communication and conflict resolution in front of customers.
● Follow up with the employees involved regarding customer service standards and respectful communication.

It was packed on 4th July in Galveston. There were a lot of orders. I made mine through the app. Went inside, stepped over to the "take out" section. Let them know I was there. Despite having a mountain of orders, they attended to mine in as short of time as possible and had me on my way. Thanks, much appreciated.

Was excited to eat here but the monotone girl taking orders outside either didn't ring my order up right or they gave me the wrong shake (disgusting flavor instead of chocolate). I also asked for medium and got small. Honestly that wouldn't have been terrible except that they left me waiting at the window for over 10 minutes and my hamburger was literally room temperature. I'm not sure if they were making all of the orders behind mine to save on window time, but there were a ton of workers inside laughing and talking. Which is great, but if the food could be hot and taste good, that would be awesome.

Ordered online a little before 11 PM, arrived at 11:05, and didn’t have my food until after midnight. Forty minutes in the drive-through, then another 20 standing inside. I asked the counter three separate times whether my order was ready. When someone finally checked, they discovered no one had started it, no one saw the order apparently despite the drive through window telling me to pull up to a carry out spot. I had just been waiting the entire time for no reason. Over an hour for fast food because my order was ignored/lost/given to someone else, and workers who would’ve let me stand there for another hour had I not kept asking about it. For comparison: I gave up, drove to the Taco Bell that’s 10 minutes farther away, and had my food in under 10 minutes. If you’re choosing this location because it’s the “closer” option, it isn’t. Anywhere else is faster.

After a late night at the ER we went to the drive through to grab something to eat. We sat at the ordering stand for 5+ minutes with no response and could not tell if it was working. So we stayed in line and told them at the window 20 minutes later that we tried to order and she said she was talking to us but didn’t think we could hear her. She then asked us to wait so she could take another vehicles order. That shocked me after sitting there all that time. So we just left and will not be back to this location.
