We were celebrating our anniversary so my wife wanted to try rain forest Cafe. There is honestly nothing I can say good about the experience that ruin our anniversary night. The entire place is a tourist trap. It's incredibly dated decor and sad animatronics are so outdated. The waitress could barely speak English. She took our order by pointing at pictures. We ordered sad smoothies that came with a lighted glasses that you keep that ended being plastic junk. After 30 minutes our entree arrives...and I ask where the appetizers were...they showed up 2 minutes later. I asked why they came after the entree and she shrugged. So we had food stacked all over the table...entrees getting cold...good thing the cheese curds and the mozzarella flatbread we decent because the entrees were basically horrible. My wife ordered the shrimp 3 ways...all the shrimp we cooked some place beyond overcooked into golf ball consistency. The side dish was the absolute worst version a rice dish ever.. it was supposed to be some version of rice and red beans...well it was as sweet as rice pudding with kidney beans running thru it...your brain say no way in hell! My entree was Coconut crusted flounder and shrimp..guess what? The shrimp was just as over cooked and the flounder had zero flavor...could have been Coconut covered paper towel...which would have potential to actually be better if there was seasoning. I stated my displeasure to the waitress several times about everything all to a blank stare. Even ky 11 year old soon said the place was ridiculous...his mushy fries and he said stupid animal sounds. Overall I wish I could forget this experience ever happened and picked any of the other fine galveston places to eat. Certainly would have cost less than $150.

⭐☆☆☆☆ This was, without a doubt, one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we’ve ever had. We chose Rainforest Cafe because we wanted to celebrate our 8-year-old son’s special day. Unfortunately, instead of creating a happy memory, they left him crying for hours. What made the situation even more upsetting was our interaction with an employee named Ibrahim. Since we speak the same language, we politely explained how important this celebration was for our son and specifically asked if they could help make it special. Despite our repeated requests, nothing was done. It was painfully obvious that the staff chose to focus on a larger table, likely because they expected a bigger tip, while completely ignoring our family and our son’s celebration. Watching an 8-year-old wait with excitement only to end up heartbroken is something no parent should experience. A birthday only comes once a year, and it costs nothing to show a little kindness or keep a simple promise. Instead, our son left in tears, and what should have been a joyful evening became a memory we’ll never forget for all the wrong reasons. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this restaurant to any family looking to celebrate a special occasion. If you’re planning a birthday or any meaningful event, I strongly suggest choosing a place where children and families are treated with genuine care and respect.

As cheesy as this sounds, if you're in Galveston, TX make a stop here. They've done everything right. You will, of course, spend WAY too much money, but you'll have a great time. The food is OK at best, but the animitronics, the lights, the gift shop with places to play and the rainforest ride (8 minutes long and fun for EVERY age), its all such a blast. Your family will have a great time. Also, anyone can go on the ride. You buy tickets separately from dining. One night, I brought my granddaughter (2 years old) and mom (she's 84 and has limited mobility). The staff was great with her, helping her on and off the ride. And my 2 year old granddaughter was captivated. We went for the ride, shopped a bit in the gift shop, and then went out for ice cream to Ritas. It was a lovely evening, and MUCH cheaper than having dinner there.

Yandis was incredible! He was attentive, patient, kind and sincere and every request we had was fulfilled. He made my daughter’s special day even more special than we planned. Every time we kept thinking the restaurant couldn’t top our dinner and service, more and more surprises came our way. We have not had a waiter like Yandis in years! He has excellent customer service skills, was very professional and an essential asset he possessed was being bilingual in a tourist destination. Having Yandis was a pleasure for our family. The face painter, balloon artist, outside DJ and photographers all were added bonuses to our dinner. The food came out faster than we thought and everything was plated beautifully, tasted delicious and waiting in line was well worth our dinner and service experience here! (Featured photo is the free postcard the photographer handed us.)

It was a pretty long wait time, but we were told beforehand, and we decided to wait for the Galveston location, and I now assume that's to be expected on a Friday during the summer season, but no one was really turned off by it, meaning tons of people waited just as long to be able to enter to eat. 1hr and 45 minute wait time was told to us, and we were seated around 2hrs 15 minutes, and that was for a table of three on Friday afternoon. All good, we accepted the challenge to wait, and we did. No complaints. Pretty accurate on the time. Service was amazing! We did get a waitress Julianna M that made the visit worth waiting for. She remembered to check back, very timely when we couldn't decide on what to order, and when we did do so, she made sure to let us know if a dish was spicy or not. Sounds weird to acknowledge this, but as busy as it was in there, I appreciated having a server who took time to appreciate us, because I understand she probably had 100 tables that night alone. She checked in multiple times to ask if we needed refills (and she remembered what we were drinking), dessert, or the check, and what I appreciated the most, was she didn't try to force down our throats the chocolate lava sparkle cake thing they had going on. What I will finally say, is the food is meh. It's atmosphere and expensive fair at best. It tastes frozen or caught long ago (seafood), and why there is no seasoning on anything, is beyond me. My husband enjoyed the steak because it was rare and had just enough salt on it, that he was happy with it. Wait sucks. Food is meh. But the atmosphere is pretty great. Kids LOVE IT! Parents, just cope ❤🤣
