IF I could give this zero stars I would! Landry’s Is absolute crap and I highly recommend sticking with locally owned seafood restaurants nearby!!! Seriously, locally owned is so much better!!!
Our waitress was super annoying and kept giving us looks like we were stupid, and seriously talked way too much. We didn’t have much privacy during our mealtime and she had a weird vibe to her. I can’t even remember her name- maybe that’s a good thing because we don’t want to remember her name 😅. We want to forget about this whole experience there.
The steak was chewy and absolute crap. My husband ordered the steak medium rare and it literally tasted like not good quality steak. The sides were okay, he said but the meat sucked. NOT worth the price.
I got the Mahi Mahi almond crusted and y’all, I swear- it tasted like a FROZEN piece of meat heated up!! I took it back- it was absolutely disgusting. 🤢
I ended up getting the jambalaya because you can’t really mess that up, right? 😅. WRONG!!!! This meal tasted like frozen ingredients, too… I’m an expert with jambalaya and seriously get it everywhere I go, and I have never ever tasted jambalaya so disgusting. Super disappointed and the shrimp was frozen in the middle. Seriously, I wanted to take it back but already took back the first dish and the waitress was giving me looks like the kitchen did something to my food…. Tasted weird like something was put in it, or spit in…. NOT JOKING… it was an awkward experience and we will NEVER EVER EVER be back to Landry’s again.
What a shame because we have a close relative who owns a business in Galveston and wanted to have a large company party there with 400+ people and rent out the restaurant for the evening in the fall for an event…. After our experience we told him he should go elsewhere so he will be going to a local restaurant nearby!! Stinks for Landry’s because they could have had a nice profit from my relatives event! Take this as a learning lesson!!!
Comedy of errors Service Failure. Management or Corporate culture problem? April 17, 2026. 12:30 pm. . Party of 29, from Houston, on a tour bus, who are very polite mature diners arrives at restaurant. Restaurant not busy, mostly empty. Reservation made months in advance. Staff unprepared. One server takes our orders. After 45 min wait, one in party, on way to Men's room, notices that the server who took our order has not been able to enter the orders because the computer is buffering. Inquires as to why server has not asked for assistance. She politely replies that “I will do that” and hurries to the kitchen. The one in our party who went to the men’s room, after coming out, walks over to the Hostess at the entrance (blonde lady) and politely says, “We’ve been here more than 45 minutes, can we have some bread please? He also asks why the food hasn’t come out yet? Flustered, Hostess responds angrily and shifts blame to our group for just being there, "You don't realize that you are a party of 29!". Seeing her stress level, party member does not respond but instead proceeds to his table and sits down. After an hour, one server drops a water pitcher and spills water on a few of our diners and the water spills between the tables occupied by the 29 of us. Three people come out to mop it up. No one says anything to the server because we recognize she is obviously feeling stressed by the perceived work load. Eventually one young man, who becomes our lone Server, and our “Captain Save em”, is sent out to tend to the needs of our 29 people. Meanwhile the table of three next to our tables (shown), consistently has not one--but two Servers, who are attending to their every need the entire time we are there. Also some staff are standing around doing nothing. Long story short—now that it is about 2 pm, some of us start to receive our starters (gumbo or salad), but most do not. Our Captain Save ‘em Lone Server, who everyone adores because of his professionalism and composure, is doing his best to unravel how the orders were originally taken. Remember he did not take the orders, but after the orders were taken, somewhere along the line when orders went to the kitchen, confusion ensued as to who ordered what. After two hours a few more of us began receiving our starters (gumbo or salad) as some are receiving orders they didn’t ask for and some are receiving their correct orders. By 3 pm one confused person in our party still has not received any food. By 3:30 pm, after most entrees have come out, and some came out cold, our party decides to ask for to go containers. Meanwhile, the confused, but polite person in our party who has still not received any food, and recognizing Captain Save em’s work load, politely asks him for her food. Captain Save em’ goes to the back and comes back out and asks for patience, her food will be out in a few. Close to 4 pm the polite confused diner, finally gets her food after everyone else has already either eaten or packed up their food. The original flustered server who took the order is given a warm hug of understanding. We all complement Captain Save ‘em and make sure he is tipped. However, after boarding our tour bus, Captain Save ‘em comes on board, to tell us there was a check error and he resolves the issue. Note: the angry Hostess spent the entire time we were there, avoiding eye contact with us. Our group has dined at, and hosted events at other affiliated Fetitta restaurants, such as Salt Grass, and has never encountered this problem before.
