  Things were looking a bit rough at first, and I was honestly bracing for a not-so-great experience with my original server caleb who left us waiting to order for 30 minutes!!! Smh . But then Hermes stepped in, and everything just completely changed. They were incredibly on top of things, super friendly, and just went above and beyond to make sure I had an amazing time. Seriously, Hermes turned the whole thing around and made it phenomenal! Additionally Johnny was incredible as well ! He was so attentive and really made sure everything was perfect, turning what could have been a difficult situation into an amazing experience.

  Visité Joe's Crab Shack y tuve una muy buena experiencia. Para los que vivimos en el área de Houston, este es prácticamente el único de la cadena que queda relativamente cerca, así que definitivamente vale la pena la visita. Pedí un cóctel que estaba excelente, muy bien preparado y con gran sabor. Además, la atención hizo toda la diferencia: la muchacha que me atendió fue muy amable, atenta y siempre pendiente de que todo estuviera bien. Ese tipo de servicio hace que uno quiera regresar. Muy buen ambiente para relajarse, disfrutar algo de tomar y pasar un buen rato en Galveston.

  If you want amazing seafood, Joe’s Crab Shack never disappoints. The food is always delicious, the service is consistently friendly, and the music and atmosphere make every visit fun and relaxing. My absolute favorite is the crab nachos — seriously addictive. I’m always a little sad they’re no longer on the regular menu, but the good news is they’re still available during happy hour. And if they’re not too busy, managers Johnny and Justin are incredibly accommodating and have even had the chefs make them. That kind of hospitality really stands out. Another must-try is the Joe’s Classic Boil — full of flavor and perfect if you want the classic seafood feast. A huge shoutout to Joseph, who is fantastic every time I visit. He’s friendly, attentive, and always makes the experience even better. Y es bilingüe, así que para la gente que habla español, pídanlo con confianza — muy amable y da un servicio excelente. And if you have kids, the kids meals are such a great value — only $7.99, and they include a drink and ice cream. Even better, the food is actually delicious, which makes it a win for both parents and kids. Great food, amazing staff, fun atmosphere, and those crab nachos keep me coming back every time. Highly recommend.

  Hermes was amazing! His service was the best and he was so friendly. He was very extremely attentive. He didn’t make us feel uncomfortable. He was very warm and welcoming. He is fairly new but had the menu down pack and made the best recommendations. He was so sweet and also made me feel special. We had a great time and he was always smiling. He also made sure the table was always clean and not dirty or messy. He was cleaning our table and picking up trash from the tables. I would absolutely recommend asking for him if possible because he is friendly, energetic, has great vibes and very bubbly. He looks like he enjoys what he does and also has a passion for helping and serving. He made me feel like I was back home with his customer service. He did not rush us or push products. He did go over the different desserts for kids and advised us of the upcharge which is helpful for clients. He needs a raise ! We will for sure come back.

  If you like School dinners - you’ll love Joes Crab Shack ! Honestly I started to enjoy writing reviews. This one feels kind of meanish, I wouldn’t usually bother, but I PAID $120 like an idiot - and now I’m mad we didn’t just leave before ordering. It was the most disappointing experience we had on Galveston Island. I feel like I wasted hard-earned money and precious time with my very excited little foodie- my son that I saved up $ for. If I could go back, get my money back I would. Thank God we found better places after this disaster. It’s on the Sea Wall - but the main road seperates you from the BEACH, the waves and that seaside feeling. The patio was far too windy so we sat inside - it’s pretty loud inside, scraping chairs on concrete floors, open, looks generically “city person flew in and Beach decorated” no personality, many of the photos are not related to Galveston at all, the street signs - everything feels forced, controlled, rushed, -big corporate - not very island cute, not very Galveston, honestly I think I spent the whole time knowing I may as well bury $120 on the beach - missing chatting with my precious son - for our special time together. He said the restroom smelt. Soooo The food…. Good lord, somebody let me in that kitchen, I could have prepared a tastier meal myself, the portions are small, spaced out, if you like FRIED with extra batter on everything, tasteless, frozen poor quality sad fish, shrimp, BENDY, limp crab then this is your place. The skinny crab legs were actually stretchy, bendy, nothing cracked or slid out - it was stuck to its shell , old PRE frozen taste and the texture was off… My son may have coaxed out a couple of teaspoons of meat that’s it. Would you like some fried with your fries? The coleslaw came in a tiny pot the size of my thumb ! The extra coleslaw we asked for NEVER even made it to our table nor did the side of veggies we desperately needed with our BROWN meal of fried sludge. The soup; CLAM CHOWDER $10 How a restaurant can get away with this I have no idea….. This was not homemade. Tasted Stale, a thick milky fish-smelling potato soup from a can or Bag or god knows what; NO CLAMS - no Seafood at all. The garlic bread was charged as an addition $2.00 separately. Over priced, sad and left a really horrible taste in our mouths. $120 $20 TIP that wasn’t earned however she was young and kept smiling so 🤷🏻‍♀️ We did in fact ask to speak to the Manager as the soup was inedible and were told “she is in the office” and apparently - she 🫣never made it out - along with our veggies, coleslaw and $120 cash !! 😬 One off Bad experience? We will probably never know…. This honestly screamed school dinners, with its little plastic tubs, small thin cutlery, horrible paper towels, controlled frozen portions, heated premade or frozen food with high dining prices. The next day We discovered Galveston had many quality seafood restaurants that screamed Seaside Cuteness…. Lesson learned; we just didn’t know where they were at first - so don’t get stuck on the SeaWall... Btw - I don’t take many pics - it hadn’t crossed my mind to review until today !
