  Fisherman’s Wharf in Galveston is a great place to enjoy a meal while soaking up the coastal atmosphere! There’s something special about dining near the water and enjoying that classic Gulf Coast vibe. If you’re visiting Galveston, this is a great spot to add to your itinerary while exploring the waterfront and enjoying everything this charming coastal town has to offer. A wonderful place to stop, relax, and enjoy a little taste of the coast!

  Skimpy portions for the high prices especially the peel and eat shrimp , they reminded me of shrimp you get at the all you can eat Chinese buffet also ordered the fisherman's wharf platter and it was a a whole bunch of French fries and a little pice of fish and a few small shrimp and crab cakes very disappointed especially for that price there are too meny really good places to get seafood in Galveston won't be back here again and the mixed drinks were very weak too and expensive

  We’ve been coming to Fisherman’s Wharf for 15 years, and it has normally been one of our go-to places. Unfortunately, today’s visit was very disappointing. We came in before the dinner rush because we had kids with us and wanted to get everyone fed quickly. Unfortunately, that did not happen. The service was noticeably off from the moment we sat down. The kids’ waters were not kept filled, and until we finally gave our number, we felt like we were basically being ignored. The food was also inconsistent. The rice was underdone, the shrimp were dry and overcooked, and the redfish with ponchartrain sauce was served cold. Both kids’ burgers and fries were cold as well. On the positive side, the pasta was good and the oysters were good. What was most disappointing was that this didn’t feel like the Fisherman’s Wharf we’ve known for the past 15 years. We remember when the cooks took pride in the meals they served and when the overall experience reflected that same pride. We understand that every restaurant can have an off day, and we certainly hope today was just that — an off day. We’ve been loyal customers for many years and would love to see the food quality and service return to what we’ve come to expect from Fisherman’s Wharf.

  This is not the first time we have been here. We decided to make the 1 hour trip to Galveston for the day to celebrate our anniversary. We were looking forward to this place for our lunch. We were excited, but unfortunately this time we were quite disappointed 😞. The Parmesan Crusted Redfish was very bland and was disappointing, prior this was my wife's favorite dish from here. I got the Stuffed Flounder and was picking the fin ray bones out of my mouth throughout most of the meal. My first bite had two of those bones stab me in my mouth, one into gums and the other on the roof of my mouth. Overall I pulled a full handful of those bones out, they didn't miss just a couple, they missed every single fin ray bone in the fillets. When asked, the manager confirmed that the chefs fillet the Flounder in-house, this time they did not pay close attention to the filleting on my Flounder. Other than all the fin ray bones in my Flounder it tasted alright. It was just an overall disappointment, especially since it was our anniversary lunch we were looking forward to all week.

  My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Fisherman's Wharf, and I especially want to recognize our server, Tyrell. We arrived about 40 minutes before closing, and from the moment we walked in, we were treated with genuine hospitality. At no point did we feel like we were inconveniencing anyone by arriving late. Tyrell, in particular, made us feel like we had arrived when the restaurant had just opened. He was enthusiastic, welcoming, and genuinely seemed happy to make sure we had a great experience. We had questions about the grilled and fried fish options, and Tyrell walked us through what was available that day and gave us recommendations based on the day's selection. He explained the portions, sides, and sauces, and even brought us two different sauces to try with the fried red snapper. That kind of attention to detail really stood out. He was also incredibly attentive throughout the entire meal. Our water was always full, he made sure we had everything we needed, brought extra plates when appropriate, and consistently checked on our comfort without ever hovering or making us feel rushed. He even took care of our parking validation without us having to ask. But what stood out most wasn't any one particular thing—it was the way Tyrell made us feel. We were visiting from outside the area, and he made us feel like we belonged in a city that wasn't ours. He was honest about his experience with Galveston, knowledgeable about the restaurant, and genuinely interested in making sure we enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent as well. We had the surf and turf and the fried red snapper, and the portions were generous. Everything was great, and we would absolutely come back. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere. Seeing the boat was such a cool feature and something we'd never seen at a restaurant before. The ambiance and overall vibe made the experience even more memorable. But honestly, Tyrell is the person I hope management sees this review for. He has the kind of presence, knowledge, initiative, and genuine hospitality that goes beyond simply taking someone's order. He represents the restaurant extremely well. He didn't just serve us—he made sure we had a great experience from beginning to end. If I were part of the management or ownership team, Tyrell is exactly the kind of employee I'd want to recognize, retain, and give opportunities to grow. His ability to connect with guests, know his product, anticipate needs, and create an experience without making it feel forced is something special. Tyrell, thank you for making our visit memorable. You absolutely deserve the recognition. We'll be back, and if we're lucky enough to have you as our server again, that'll make the experience even better.
