Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Standing here with no one to take my order, they have kiosks now and the person supposed to be here to still take orders is hiding in the back, I can see him on his phone... like come on...I'm not using a kiosk!

Drive thru is always slow. I am sitting in line with only 4 cars and they are somehow still slow. Not sure what they r doing. They stick me in the B lane and then disappear with my credit card for another 5 minutes because the swipes is broke. I was finally able to get the guys attention and he told me they forgot about me …..plenty of time to do this review and hike waiting.

So firstly, My bf and I waited in the drive thru for 15 min along with other cars nobody came to either of the things. Then we went inside. The workers were all outside talking and laughing neglecting their jobs, and when the workers finally came in they asked if we had a lighter…then almost walked to the back..

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough that I feel it needs to be addressed by management.
I visited this Whataburger location expecting the usual quality and service, but instead I ended up waiting over 40 minutes for something as simple as a shake. During that entire time, there was no communication from the staff—no update, no explanation for the delay, and not even a basic acknowledgment that I had been waiting far longer than any customer should.
What made the situation worse was the complete lack of urgency or concern. I wasn’t being difficult—I was just standing there, waiting patiently, expecting at the very least some level of customer service. After such a long wait with no progress, I finally had to ask for a refund. While the refund was processed without any issue, there was still no apology or attempt to make things right.
The most disappointing part came immediately after: the very next customer was served a shake without any delay. That moment made it feel like my time simply didn’t matter.
I’m not upset about the shake itself—I’m disappointed in the way the situation was handled. Good customer service isn’t just about getting orders right, it’s about communication, accountability, and respect for people’s time. A simple apology or even a quick update would have made a big difference.
I hope management takes the time to review what happened here and works with the team to improve how situations like this are handled. I would genuinely appreciate being contacted about this experience, because I believe feedback like this is an opportunity to improve, not just for me, but for future customers as well.
