I had a very disappointing experience here.
When I placed my order, the waitress never asked whether it was for dine-in or to-go. She handled my order as a to-go order without confirming my preference. Since the restaurant was empty and I intended to eat there, I found a table and sat down with my food.
After I had already taken a few bites, she approached me and told me that next time I needed to let them know beforehand because they have rules. I explained that no one had asked me whether I was dining in or taking the food to go. She then told me that I should have said “table for one” and that simply ordering food does not count.
I understand that a restaurant may have policies, but those policies should be communicated clearly to customers before expecting them to follow them. In this situation, the waitress had an opportunity to simply ask me whether the order was for here or to go, but that question was never asked.
What was most disappointing was being approached only after I had sat down and started eating, rather than being given the opportunity to clarify the situation beforehand. The interaction made me feel unwelcome, and I ultimately left without finishing my meal.
Customer service is not just about having rules; it is also about communicating those rules respectfully and making sure customers understand them. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because no customer should leave a restaurant feeling this way.

Very disappointing experience at Red Hot Chilli Pepper, Frisco.
No proper information about the 18% gratuity: We clearly told the server that we were new to the USA and new to the restaurant. Even then, he did not inform us that a party of 5 or more would automatically be charged an 18% gratuity. This should have been clearly communicated before taking our order or at least when we were seated.
Unnecessary issue about seating and inappropriate comments: We were essentially two separate groups. Out of the 5 people, 4 were non-vegetarian and 1 was vegetarian. We even agreed to pay the additional amount and simply asked if something could be done about the situation.
Instead of handling the situation professionally, the server made unnecessary comments about our profession and being software engineers, along with other remarks that were completely inappropriate and disrespectful. As customers, we expect to be treated with basic courtesy and professionalism regardless of our profession or background.
Poor service despite a $139 bill: Our total bill was around $139, but despite spending that amount, we did not receive proper service. We had to call the server multiple times whenever we needed assistance. Good customer service should not depend on the amount of the bill, but in our case, the service was still very disappointing.
The biggest issue was the lack of clear communication, poor customer service, and the unprofessional way the situation was handled. Being new to the USA and new to the restaurant should have been a reason to explain the policies clearly and respectfully.
Overall, this was a very poor and disappointing experience. The way we were treated made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
Response of the reply that I got from team:
The issue is not the 18% gratuity. We understand that the policy was mentioned on the menu, and we are not complaining about being charged the 18%.
Our main concern is the way the situation was handled by your server. During the conversation, the server asked about our profession and made inappropriate comments related to us being software engineers. Those comments were unnecessary, disrespectful, and completely unrelated to the restaurant’s gratuity or seating policy.
Even if a customer does not notice or understand a policy on the menu, the situation should be handled professionally and respectfully. We were simply asking for clarification and trying to understand the situation, especially since we were new to the USA and your restaurant.
Your response focuses on the 18% gratuity, but that was never the main complaint in our review. The real issue was the server’s behavior, inappropriate comments, and the lack of professionalism.
We appreciate that you have been serving customers for 10 years, but we hope you will also take our feedback seriously and address how such situations are handled by your staff.
