If you find yourself in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, particularly near the vibrant Sundance Square, a visit to Del Frisco's Grille is often at the top of the list for a quintessential local experience. It is important to distinguish this spot from the nearby Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse; while the latter offers a more formal, classic steakhouse environment, the Grille provides a more social, energetic, and modern setting that perfectly matches the pulse of the plaza.
The atmosphere at the Grille is truly a highlight. With its two-tier design and a spacious patio that spills out directly onto Sundance Square Plaza, it is an ideal vantage point for taking in the sights and sounds of downtown. While the restaurant is a fantastic destination for people-watching and enjoying the lively energy of the square, it is worth noting that they do not typically host their own "live music" performances. However, because you are situated right in the middle of Sundance Square, you are often within earshot of the general music and festivities that frequently take place in the plaza itself, creating a wonderful outdoor ambiance without needing a dedicated stage inside the restaurant.
Regarding the menu, the food is designed to be shared and enjoyed in a relaxed way. As seen in the photo provided, their Ahi Tacos are a standout—featuring fresh tuna tartare, creamy avocado, and a zesty spicy citrus aioli that perfectly balances flavor and texture. Whether you are stopping by for their popular happy hour, a casual lunch, or a late-night dinner, the combination of the prime steaks, gourmet burgers, and the bustling, stylish industrial decor makes for a memorable outing. It is the kind of place where the hospitality feels inherently Southern, making it a great pick for both out-of-town visitors and locals looking for a dependable, fun spot to spend an evening in the city
I booked a private room for a lunch with my team. It was so worth the effort. The room was nice and a great way to spend time with one another. The service was excellent and they were very attentive. All of the appetizers, drinks, food and dessert were excellent. We had such a good time and we were very happy with everything. I would do this again in a heartbeat.
Ordered a medium rare steak and said I’d rather it be rare than medium and then they brought a medium steak. Honestly, it’s kind of sad that Texas Roadhouse is better.
Wife did love the Burrata Caprese.
I reserved a table for 7 at 8:00 pm on the Fourth of July. Downtown Fort Worth was packed due to FIFA and the 250th Fourth of July celebrations going on. They were actually closing at 9 pm that night, unbeknownst to me and my group, but the staff didn't blink an eye at our timing. Major kudos for this alone... It was my wife's 65th birthday, and i had arranged for her best friend, her only son, and her most favorite sibling to surprise her, and Del Frisco's Grille was the icing on the birthday cake!
The noise level? Moderate, maybe? But that was mostly because of our party of 7! The atmosphere and vibe was upbeat and engaging; not tuxedo fancy, but just classy enough to feel like our little group was the most important table in the room.
We had delicious drinks, perfectly grilled steaks, crispy brussel sprouts, truffled mac and cheese, creamed spinach, soft pretzel bread sticks, and loaded baked potatoes... correction: loaded mashed potatoes... They had unfortunately run out of baked potatoes by the time our group arrived, and this became a topic of unrivaled hilarity between my brother-in-law and our fantastic server, Devynn.
Speaking of Devynn... many, MANY props to Devynn, who handled my brother-in-laws incessant but good-natured ribbing with her own witty style, keeping our glasses full, and checking on us just enough to be attentive, but not overbearing... AND she knows the Muffin Man... just ask her!
I knew the menu prices going in, and to be honest, I felt they were a little on the high side, but this was also a planned event for my wife, and frankly, their prices were not my main concern: the atmosphere and the attention to my wife's special day was what made it worth every penny.
As an added bonus, when the night sky over Sundance Square lit up with fireworks after 9 pm, our little group got the entire wall of windows to view the spectacular show all to ourselves, indoors, out of the heat and humidity, surrounded by the family and friends my wife loves the most... I couldn't have asked for a better night out for my wife and I.

Wendy (manager) and Trey (server) were absolutely the best. They took such great care of my wife and I and really made our experience by making us feel so cared for. The food was also great so definitely recommend this restaurant.
