  Everytime I have been thru have been out of potatoes, not like they're attached to a grocery store with pallets of them or anything. No sense in having a brisket baked potato special if you cant keep potatoes in stock.

  Don't go unless you plan on standing in line for 30 minutes OR you are only getting 10 items or less. Checkout lines were long but there were 8 open 10 items or less sections. I had about 20 items and the lady said it would throw off the scales if you had more than 10 items. Never heard that before. Guess I will only go there if getting 10 items or less cause I generally don't have 30 minutes to stand in checkout line. Seems like HEB would want you to get more things. Oh well. Walmart it is if I need to get a bunch of things.

  Chris is usually the host I run into & place my order with when I visit True Texas BBQ. He is a wonderful conversationalist, always has a positive attitude and is great at making food recommendations. I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve bought either directly from them or from the hot bar inside the grocery store. All they’re missing are maybe a few lunch special items (brisket, sausage or fried bologna sandwich with chips and a drink for $9.99 OR like a meat with one side and a drink for $12.99). Nonetheless, if you’re looking for consistent service and well portioned food for a fair price, then try them out.The worst thing about this place is that occasionally they get so busy that they run out of ribs & barbecue sauce, but that just tells you how good it must be!

  The atmosphere and food is amazing here, but Chris and Jamal are absolutely the best! They are both super friendly and helpful. We are regulars now because of the bbq and people. Highly recommended!

  The fountain drink cups are flimsy and break easily. I picked up 3 brand new refillable cups to find that all three had broken handles; the fourth one was the charm. The chicken tenders, mac & cheese, fried green beans, and corn were good. The brisket was alright. However, Chris, the gentleman working the register, was phenomenal. He was very attentive and helpful.
