I love HEB. But one thing I can't stand by and let happen is food safety issues. On a recent visit to HEB, during checkout, a bagger put raw pork on top of my sodas even after being asked not to. In the current day and age we have enough foodborne illness going around that I shouldn't have to worry about ill-trained employees who obviously didn't receive the proper food handling safety training putting raw meats on top of products that I'm going to eat or drink cold, fresh or unheated? This is not the first time it's happened. I'm sure it won't be the last. I prefer to use self-checkout but the self-checkouts are for 10 items or less and I had more than 10 items.

Date and time of visit: 08/15/26, 11:30 AM Location: check-out aisle 10 Incident: my family and I were checking out and were using a “buy 2 lunch meats get 4 free items” deal that is going on this week. Unbeknownst to us we mistakenly picked out the wrong size lunch meats for the deal, no biggie and a simple mistake on my, the customer’s, part. But the check-out employee working aisle 10 was extremely rude and dismissive of the mishap, not offering any kind of help or clarification about the coupon and instead rushing us out of the line while stating “I have a line forming and I can’t wait for you, I’m going to suspend your order now”. Her name was “Jasmine” and she was working aisle 10 at 11:30 AM on August 15th, 2026. My family and I will not be returning if that’s the kind of “customer service” culture they promote for employees working directly with customers.

I’m 35 years old and stay only 6 minutes away being told to leave my personal scooter unattended in the front is ridiculous and why would I ride my scooter instead of driving is my frugal prerogative but being told this randomly when I have been coming to HEB every night and most mornings on my scooter for my overnight shift essentials is wild granted I’m normally dressed casually but on today because I was off work I came in with a hair bonnet ,pajama pants and athletic shirt not saying their was discrimination but I wouldn’t count it out but the key point I was trying establish is that I’m walking my personal electric scooter through the store with my own HEB labeled bag shopping for breakfast items not harming or riding my scooter just shopping. I’m from Cypress Tx and as a kid I would remember collecting buddy bucks so I’m not a rookie to the outstanding customer service HEB is known for so when my mom passed away she left me a house in windmill farms I was excited to be so close HEB but today rubbed me completely wrong and I really hope it gets addressed because a lot of employees know my face and know I come there every single day for my fruit parfaits and organic energy shots I just pray this isn’t the North Texas HEB standards for customers service.

This is my second or third time coming to this location and prices / sticker tags were miss labeled. One time for a birthday cake that was labeled something else so we had to go to bakery to get a price check, a second time for a fruit, and this last time for fruit for a bowl of grapes labeled as strawberries. Mind you strawberries cost more than grapes and damn near the whole shelf of grapes in bowl are labeled as strawberries (about 50cents more) this should be illegal because if people aren’t paying attention to what they are being charged this would get by. Luckily I pay attention and this is wrong on so many levels! I may not be coming back to this location if you guys are going to keep mislabeling and wrongfully charging us for stuff that’s not correct. Even though the manager said he would say something I doubt he will because he was a little dismissive about. People please be mindful Of the items you guys are being rung up for they could be overcharging you for the wrong items.

Not sure exactly if it was the way I stored the meat but I bought some beef from this HEB which I typically do and my partner had a stomach virus for almost a week. When purchased it had a good amount of time left for use (expiration date). We did notice it was a little brown in the center but I’ve used meat that was not all the way pink in the past and it was fine. The meat was left in the fridge covered and sealed for two days and was also used those two days and he got sick. Just spreading this for awareness since there are so many stomach bugs and parasites going around now. Probably will not be buying meat in bulk anymore unless I plan to freeze it immediately or use it that day.
