  I understand wanting to grow your business and make more money. But the owner has completely destroyed the reputation in my eyes. He expanded and the food got worse, then ruined the atmosphere by turning a fantastic BBQ joint into a overpriced PLEASE WAIT TO BE SEATED restaurant with subpar food(compared to what it was previously. Only reason to come here is if you will die without BBQ on a Monday. Skinny's BBQ is much better. Sorry to see this place fall so far down the hill

  My visit to Desert Oak yesterday was disappointing. This was my fourth visit and this was the first time I had ever encountered any issues. First when we got sat, our table was visibly dirty (crumbs all over and stains from cups). The hostess then proceeded to dust the crumbs off with the menus and did not offer to clean the table properly. We had to ask the waitress to use a rag to wipe off the table. We then ordered our drinks and as the waitress brought them to our table she carried one of the in between her arm and her chest. Our food took about 30 minutes to come out. When it arrived, my brisket was a little cold and my coleslaw was very warm. My husband asked for lean brisket and it was very fatty. As we sat and tried to enjoy our meal, I observed the staff clean the other tables and they would leave the tables somewhat still dirty. Unsuspecting new customers then got sat at those tables within a few minutes. I left disappointed and I hope things improve because I’m not sure I’ll be back. The food and service used to be so good. My husband and I both used to work in the food industry for many years and watching the way the staff cleaned and handled food was concerning.

  I love bbq however Texas smoked bbq is only ok to me. I personally prefer charcoal bbq. Well all things in TX ain't the same. I was blown away by the flavor. Finally some one decided to season their meats. 1st these wings have to be award winning. The brisket rub wings may have been the best wings I've ever had. Seriously these wings were smokey crispy and seasoned so well I'm upset I only got the four. The brisket I ordered was moist and fatty I loved it. The ribs also delicious The corned bread had corn in it yesssss. Ok that green chillies cheesy rice 5stars. But that cream corn is a must have. Anybody rating what I had below 5 is just having a bad day. Absolutely the best Texas bbq I've had. Also I thought it was inexpensive. I won't pass this place again as I travel across I10

  Desert Oak Barbecue was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. The food was phenomenal—everything was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and had that authentic barbecue taste that keeps you thinking about it long after the meal is over. The quality of the food alone would have made this a great visit, but what truly took the experience to another level was the service. Sophia was absolutely outstanding. Her attentiveness, friendliness, and genuine enthusiasm made us feel incredibly welcome. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of, and her service genuinely enhanced the entire experience. It’s rare to come across someone who is so personable and clearly takes pride in making sure guests have a great time. Sophia somehow made an already amazing meal feel even more special. The atmosphere was great, the food was exceptional, and the service was truly memorable. Desert Oak Barbecue has clearly created something special, and Sophia deserves a huge amount of credit for making our visit so enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend Desert Oak Barbecue to anyone looking for incredible barbecue paired with exceptional hospitality. Ask for Sophia—you won’t regret it! Definitely a five-star experience.

  We had an excellent experience at Desert Oak BBQ in El Paso! The food was absolutely delicious—everything was flavorful, fresh, and cooked perfectly. What made our visit even better was the outstanding customer service from Annette. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Great food combined with exceptional service made this a fantastic experience. Thank you, Annette, for taking such great care of us! We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Desert Oak BBQ!
