Warm served flavorful chilaquiles In a Box! Your choice of traditional salsa over our hand-crafted strip tortilla chips. Top it off with the included toppings: shredded cheese & sour cream (making it a creamy yummy on every bite), chicken, red onion, cilantro & sesame seeds)
What really bothers me about this place is the idea that these are chilaquiles. Maybe a deconstructed Chicos rolled tacos in a box at best but not chillaquiles. First off the "sauce" is not a sauce by definition. Their sauce is more of a broth. They serve it in a box, like Chinese food is served in and it does not hold the liquid in well. I got the Chipotle flavor and Chipotle is very flavorful period so I can't give them credit for it. I also got all the toppings except the avocado. I asked for an egg on top but then I canceled the egg because they could not produce a Sunnyside up or even knew what it was. But when they told me they cook the egg in a waffle maker and it's well done so no runny yoke I was like WTF?! Forget about it. I said ok let's try it anyway. So at first the chips were just chips with toppings, the broth was like at the bottom and not touching the chips. So I asked for more liquid and she said "of course" and poured a latel in the box. I see why they can't put an adequate amount because the liquid will quickly permeate the chips and the box. Everything was soaked and it was like eating a chipotle soup with chips and toppings. Hey the Chipotle liquid was tasty and I like soaked rolled tacos so I ate through it but for crying out loud these are not chillaquiles. This whole idea is a misnomer and I don't appreciate it. Am I just old school? Does it matter anymore to be accurate in what you label something? And I don't want to hear that it's not "traditional" chillaquiles. Can you call an elephant a giraffe? Anyhow, I will just pass on this place out of protest.

The food was delicious and the overall experience was amazing! The portion of the chilabox is perfect, the salsa roja was boooomb and I sprinkled some ghost pepper powder which gave it a good kick! I also bought Compa Candies and they were so good.

Here's the thing... the concept? Very cool. The food? Ok. But I'm having a hard time with the fact that they charge you $1.50 for a quarter, 1/4 of an avocado. Avocados are $.50 at the store, for an entire one. So, here, they charge you *three* times that, for a quarter. It would be a different story if they told you, at the time of you adding avocado, that you're only going to get 1/4 for that price, then the customer can make an informed decision on whether this is something they want. I just don't understand that price, for that little. So, it's just ok. Taste wise nothing stands out. Portions are ok, they just appear to be bigger because of what they're boxed in. I just can't get over them cutting the avocado in half, then cutting it in half again and that's what you get for $1.50... I wish I had known that at the time that I added it, and I probably wouldn't have ordered anything.
