I’m following up on my original review because I honestly expected someone from management to reach out after what happened. Unfortunately, that never happened. This was my birthday dinner, and my husband chose Pappadeaux because we wanted to celebrate somewhere we thought would make the evening special. Instead, we spent nearly an hour waiting for food that never made it to our table. During that time, our waitress came to our table twice to let us know the food still wasn’t ready. Then Manager Zoe came over and apologized for the delay, saying our food was still being prepared. Shortly afterward, Manager Stacy informed us that my husband’s meal had been overcooked. That’s four separate conversations about our order, yet no one offered a real solution that evening, and after I left my review, no one from management contacted me to apologize or discuss what happened—even though they had my contact information. What disappoints me most isn’t just the long wait. It’s the lack of follow-up and customer care after the fact. A simple phone call, email, or sincere apology would have shown that my experience mattered. Instead, I was left feeling like it didn’t. I understand that restaurants have bad nights and mistakes happen. What defines great customer service is how those mistakes are handled. Sadly, my birthday experience at Pappadeaux and the complete lack of follow-up afterward left me feeling overlooked and unappreciated as a customer.

I normally don’t write reviews, but today is my birthday, and my husband took me to Pappadeaux to celebrate. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Our table was ready at 8:01 p.m., and we placed our order shortly after being seated. After waiting about 30 minutes, a manager named Zoe came to our table and apologized for the delay, explaining that our food was still being prepared. About 10 minutes later, another manager, Stacy, came over and told us that my husband’s meal had been overcooked. I was disappointed because we weren’t given the full truth from the beginning. Instead of being upfront about the issue, we were left waiting without knowing what was really going on. By that time, it was already 8:55 p.m. Since it was my birthday and we had already waited nearly an hour without receiving our food, my husband and I decided to leave and celebrate elsewhere. We ended up going to Saltgrass instead.I understand that mistakes happen, but honest communication and timely updates make a big difference. Sadly, this experience put a damper on what was supposed to be a special birthday dinner. I hope this feedback helps improve communication with future guests.

To the Management Team, I am writing to express my significant disappointment regarding a recent takeout order placed at your Duncanville location on the evening of July 17th, at approximately 7:30 PM. My husband purchased two orders of fried fish, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. Upon returning home, we discovered that the fried fish was of exceptionally poor quality – noticeably dry, overcooked, and lacking any semblance of freshness. This was particularly frustrating given that we have consistently enjoyed positive dining experiences when eating inside your restaurant. However, this incident, combined with previous issues with takeout orders, highlights a recurring and concerning disparity in quality control when food is prepared for off-premise consumption. Furthermore, the side orders provided were entirely incorrect. Instead of the items my husband specifically requested, our order contained three portions of rice and one portion of beans. This was a clear oversight and compounded our overall dissatisfaction. While I have previously taken the time to return to the restaurant to rectify such errors, the cumulative nature of these issues has led me to believe that a more formal complaint is warranted. It is disheartening to witness such inconsistencies, as they directly impact customer loyalty and your establishment’s reputation. A business thrives on repeat patronage, which is cultivated through excellent customer service and consistent product quality. When customers repeatedly receive subpar products, especially for takeout which relies heavily on convenience and accuracy, it erodes trust and can lead to negative word-of-mouth, which can be far more damaging than any positive marketing. I urge your corporate team to investigate the operational procedures at the Duncanville location, particularly regarding the preparation and accuracy of takeout orders. Implementing more stringent quality control measures is crucial to ensure that every customer, regardless of how they choose to enjoy their meal, receives the high standard of food and service your brand represents. I sincerely hope these concerns are addressed promptly to prevent further customer dissatisfaction.

Went to celebrate a graduation from DPD yesterday (7/16). Tables were reserved, but we needed one more, as it was approximately 34 people. The young lady at the front was freaking RUDE as hell and unconcerned . When daughter asked if we could have the table next to the end of ours, she tells my daughter, that she wasn’t giving her another table. There was no reason as to why or nothing. She didn’t try to accommodated us at all (only in the neighborhood). However, another employee gave her a reason about 12 minutes later. So needless to say, I think she thought we were going to accept her rude behavior and attitude. We walked ALL of that MONEY OUT THE FRONT DOOR PROUDLY. Went across town to another eatery and on short notice they accommodated us by putting us together in their large dining room. The service was very good and staff was pleasant and professional. Avoid this location! Real customer service and professionalism should be a part of ongoing training.

The food was great. For atmosphere I gave a 1 and Service a 2 because the host Ava at the check in booth was unaccomodating and lack good customer service skills. (The servers at both tables get a 5 because their service was impeccable). We asked if that our guests who arrived right after us and had a small child could be seated at the table next to us where diners had just finished. A floor manager said they could and she would get the table cleaned and this was communicated to Ava who put them on a waiting list when that table and others were available. Our guests sat for 25 minutes while others came in who were seated and the table next to us remained uncleaned for more than 25 minutes. We had to get a manager involved to get them seated. This is unacceptable. We have always live coming to the Duncanville Pappadeaux but can certainly take our business elsewhere where the front end customer service is great. Our server Marlee was exceptional and exhibited excellent customer service skills. I give her a 5. So was the other server at our guest table whom name I did not get. I suggest Ava take customer service training, I score her (Ava) a 0.
