I used to love coming to this H-E-B, but after my recent experience with a manager named Kim, I am completely disappointed. I was buying shampoo based on a promotional coupon posted in the kids section. When I went to check out, the coupon wasn't honored. When Kim was called over, she displayed zero customer service, spoke to me with a snarky, sarcastic attitude, and refused to honor the deal. I politely asked her to remove the misleading coupons from the shelf so another customer wouldn't run into the same issue. She gave me a sarcastic "Sure, have a nice day" and walked off. While exchanging the shampoos, I noticed Kim hadn't bothered to go remove the coupons like she said she would. To spare anyone else the frustration, I went ahead and pulled the coupons off the shelf myself. When I walked back up to hand them to her, Kim and a group of cashiers were literally standing in a circle laughing at me. I handed her the stack and said, "Here, I did your job for you since you didn't remove them." She just responded with more heavy sarcasm: "Thank you so much, have a great day!" It’s completely unacceptable to be openly mocked and laughed at by a manager and staff. I routinely spend over $400 a week at this store, and to be treated like this for a mistake made on their shelves is ridiculous. I did bring this behavior to the attention of her manager, Darius, who seemed to take it seriously and handle it appropriately. However, a store's reputation hinges on how its leaders treat people. H-E-B's prices and reputation are built on great customer service, but as long as managers like Kim are on the floor treating paying customers like trash, this location is going straight downhill.

Normally the customer service at this store is excellent but my wife wanted to share a bad experience she had with the check out clerk at the cash register this afternoon. She said she asked politely to have the clerk dispose a napkin and plastic bag in the garbage can behind the counter. The clerk didn't want to touch the items and advised her to throw the trash in one of the cans down the hall. My wife was upset she was told this. It made her think they thought she wasn't a very sanitary person. Right after the incident my wife said the clerk was laughing about the incident with a coworker.
