Haven't been to Pappadeux in a couple of years and truly surprised. Food was incredible and service was top notch. You will forget you are inside and airport here.

Server Kai was very sweet but busy and running around a lot. I was often forgotten at the bottom of the service as a woman sitting alone. The food was overpriced with huge Texas servings that varied in quality. The immediate speech upon being seated started, "we make everything in house". ...which I guess means they fry and heat the pre-cut fries in-house that are the same as any other fries served in many other US restaurants. The fish sandwich contained bones in the filets and I had to stop eating after the 3rd bone tickled my throat. The crab cake, which was a special and not listed on the menu, was a delight and the size of my hand. I enjoyed the crab cake but would not make recommend an effort to go down the escalator to this below terminal bar-space to dine for just the crab cakes. I believe the bar for a snack may be more forgiving for those who enjoy ESPN and Fox television while having a drink than to any foodie craving a different take on Texas eats while on a layover.

We were transiting at DFW from California on our way to Oaklahoma. My wife and I decided to eat something while waiting 2 hours for next flight to OK. This restaurant is inside the DFW airport. So it is busy and noisy as it is. We are seated at a table for two where the servers kiosk were close to the kitchen. The food was pricy but good. I treated my wife to some of her favorite seafood items. But the staff was so noisy and talkative. They were behaving like they were kids at their homes chatting away whatever comes to their mind oblivious to their customers and how it is impacting them. We tried to talk over them but no success. They were just plain loud and boisterous. After sometime more loud talk came from the go to ordering area too. We were not going to have a quiet dinner. Just finished our food and left. Interestingly, I wanted to report it to their supervisor but looks like she was aware and not doing anything about it even thoguh she was not loud. Jose, our server, knew what he was doing but he was the loudest and had a piercing voice that only made it harder. He also kept trying to push us to order more things like appetizers, drinks, etc. They all crowded around near our table because it was close to their ordering kiosk and just kept talking/chatting away while we suffered. I hope the owner or manager is reading this. This is pretty simple to manage. Please have a talk with your crew about this. This is so unprofessional and never had this kind of experience before in such a setting. Never going back there again!

This place had excellent flavor food. I ordered the special which was a crab cake. It was a really big cake but that was it. No sides. The cost was extremely high $56 with tip for one crab cake should be illegal. The waitress was ok. She did her job but was not engaging or overly friendly, but she did it. My table was next to a vent and it was uncomfortably cold so I had to inhale my food before it got cold and because I could not bear how cold it was. These airport places need to come down on pricing. They are a big ripoff. Overall I would recommend the food but the pricing was prohibitive. It’s an airport not Morton’s.
