We had the best time tonight! Our server, Dennis, was absolutely impeccable… very kind, knowledgeable and just genuinely seemed like he loved his job.
The service and the food was perfect. We had the prime rib trolley… which was a very cool presentation! Plus it was delicious!!! The prime rib was as good, if not better, than The House of Prime Rib in San Francisco (Which is an impossible reservation to get).
We were very impressed that the GM came over to tell us that the kitchen, the bar, our sever and himself were aware of my allergy and that I was safe.
This place is exceptional.

My wife and I have been to Palladino’s three times now since it opened a couple of months ago, and it has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in Dallas for the food, service, and vibe.
First, the place is beautiful. It has a modern 1920s Art Deco feel, and the bar almost reminds us of the Overlook Hotel during its glamorous days. Dark, sophisticated, lively, and just a really great place to hang out. You could easily come here just for a drink and dinner at the bar and have a great night.
And the drinks are excellent. These aren’t just bartenders making cocktails off a menu. They have real mixologists who clearly know what they’re doing.
The owner, Joe, is an excellent host. He’s usually walking around the restaurant, greeting people, checking on tables, and somehow making you feel like he’s known you for years. That same feeling carries over to the staff.
The servers are extremely professional and dressed in formal Palladino’s jackets. The tables are beautifully set with polished silver and china, almost like you’re sitting down at a very nice wedding. But for all the polish, it never feels stiff. The staff makes you feel more like you’ve been invited into someone’s home for dinner.
Now, the food.
Dallas and Fort Worth certainly aren’t lacking for great steakhouses, and we’ve eaten at most of them. Palladino’s belongs in that conversation and, for us, may be serving the best steak in North Texas right now.
Prime beef, tremendous flavor and cooked exactly to temperature. That sounds like it should be a given at a good steakhouse, but anyone who eats at them regularly knows it isn’t always.
The sushi is also outstanding. The yellowtail “dressed” hamachi nigiri may be the best my wife and I have ever had. Seriously. Outstanding. I didn’t expect sushi to be one of the things I’d be talking about in a steakhouse review, but it absolutely deserves mentioning.
The branzino is terrific too if you’re looking for something on the healthier side.
There are also a bunch of little things they get right.
They start you with warm muffins and homemade salted butter, which is a really nice touch.
The wedge salad is excellent. Cold, crisp lettuce, real blue cheese, house-made dressing, and instead of the usual dried-out bacon bits, you get thick, flavorful pieces of center-cut bacon.
And the roasted potatoes with caviar are incredible. Order them.
If we have two small nits, the vegetable choices are a little thin. We need some more greens! And the beignets could use a little more love. But Palladino’s is still relatively new, and I’m guessing they’ll get there. ;)
One of the things I like most about the restaurant is that it works for a lot of different occasions.
It’s a great date-night restaurant. The bar is lively enough that you can come in just for cocktails or eat your entire dinner there. The main dining room feels festive without being chaotic. And they have private rooms if you need a more serious business dinner or conversation.
Three visits with my wife. Three first-class experiences.
In a city with plenty of places to get a good steak, Palladino’s has done something a little harder: it has created a place we actually look forward to going back to.
And a shout-out to Chef Henry Johnson, Ikar, Eric, Beddekar, Giogorio and DeMarcus. You guys have taken great care of us.
I had a great birthday dinner here for my Fiancée. The service was great and all of the drinks were made very well. I got a Tom Collin’s which most people botch. They made a good one as well as the martinis 🍸 we ordered. The spicy tuna roll was okay I wouldn’t order it again. The mozzarella was very good and I recommend to try it. My fiancée likes her steak well done and she ordered it that way to my shock 😮 they cooked it perfectly. The first of any steak house we’ve been too major props to the chefs! The fries were very insulting and you must avoid them. They are something you’d get at like a fast food restaurant with little to know flavor especially for the price it is very disappointing. The snow dessert was very fun and refreshing after dinner. We were seated on a shared booth with tables next to us the tables are so close to each other you have to move the table in order to get out so highly recommended to get seated at a stand alone table you will hear your neighbors entire conversation. Also there are only two bathrooms 🚽 here shared I had to wait in line twice something that should never happen in an establishment like this. I would recommend this place it is pricey but they did a great job in all aspects I would say the only room for improvement which they can’t is how tight it is and the restrooms. I would highly recommend not coming here at all on a Friday or Saturday night. I came on a Sunday it was perfect.
This was, without question, the worst fine dining experience we've ever had. We had a 7 p.m. reservation for four on Saturday, Aug. 1. When we checked in, the hosts told us they were "working on our table" and that it would only be a few minutes. Twenty minutes later, we asked again and received the same canned response. At 7:30 p.m., we were told they were changing the table linens and would seat us momentarily. We weren't seated until 7:45 p.m. The host stand was crowded with other guests waiting well past their reservation times, yet the hosts were not interested in managing expectations—no offer to wait at the bar, no sincere explanation for the extended wait. Just the same scripted response to everyone. If you can't manage the reservations and you are running behind, just tell people the truth. Repeated canned responses only make an already frustrating situation worse. We should have done what another group eventually did and left.
Once we were finally seated, our waiter explained that he needed to take our entire order—including appetizers—up front so the kitchen could properly course the meal and ensure that everything was timed correctly. We thought the evening was finally back on track.
Unfortunately, that never happened. It took more than 20 minutes to receive our cocktails and another long wait for the appetizers. The shrimp cocktail and mozzarella appetizers were fine, but nothing great. The wait from appetizers to entrees was roughly another 40 minutes. We were told our meals were "being plated" several times.
When the food was finally served around 9:20 p.m., more than 2 hours after our 7 p.m. reservation, 3 of our 4 entrees were cold— the steaks, over $100 each, and the lobster scampi. There was nothing "scampi" about it, based on the waiter's description, and the texture of the lobster was mushy, so it went uneaten. The branzino was fine. The $20 side of fries, served in a tiny cup, was comical.
The service recovery was even more disappointing than the delays. At some point during all this waiting, our waiter vanished.
A manager came to the table after the food arrived and asked how everything was, apparently unaware of our experience. When we explained the situation and told her 3 of the entrees were cold, she argued that they couldn't be because the plates had come straight from the kitchen. We suggested she try the food herself. She then offered to have it reheated/replaced but by this point, it was nearly 10 p.m. and we had completely lost our appetite and just wanted the check so we could leave.
Then the general manager finally made his way to our table. He never apologized. He simply handed us his business card. Not, "I'm sorry." Not, "I'd love the opportunity to make this right." Just a business card, which we left on the table because what were we supposed to do with it? He did remove some items from the bill, although, interestingly, not the cold entrees that went largely uneaten and happened to be the most expensive items we ordered. The bill was still over $400.
We were with great friends, so we laughed our way through what became an unbelievably bad dining experience until it wasn't funny anymore. While waiting for valet, we spoke with several other guests who had a similarly disappointing meal. We were clearly not the only table having problems Saturday night.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and certainly looks the part of an upscale steakhouse. The staff came across as pretentious. This is Preston Hollow, not Beverly Hills. Unfortunately, the food/dining experience doesn't come close to matching the setting or the prices. Dallas has too many outstanding steakhouses to spend an evening here.
From our 7 p.m. reservation until we left after 10 p.m., we spent most of those 3 hours waiting. Fine dining should be memorable because of exceptional food and service, not because of endless delays, cold entrees, and a complete lack of accountability.
Palladino's may eventually become a great restaurant to the benefit of our neighborhood, but we won't be going back.
