Incredible bbq. We had chicken (our favorite), sliced beef, Mac and cheese (incredible), corn bread (great).
Service was awesome. There was a weird guy who came in while I was ordering and jumped in front of me. The lady serving me was super kind but firm and made him step back. Hard to explain, but she handled it well.
Service top! Bathroom was the major fall back. Down an elevator and an absolute mess. My wife said it was very creepy. So… if you want great food, go to koala! If you want to pee… go elsewhere.

We ate at Moak’s while staying in Dallas and it was outstanding from start to finish. Raquel took great care of us and made the whole experience even better with her friendly service and attention to detail.
I ordered the Texan along with the fried pickles, and both were exceptional. The meat was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for when you come to Texas BBQ. The fried pickles were some of the best I’ve had — crispy, hot, and not greasy at all.
Everything from the food to the atmosphere to the service exceeded expectations. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Dallas.

After trying Terry Black's and Pecan Lodge in the past few, I was still on a quest for great Texas Brisket... And I was not disappointed!! Moak's made the best brisket in the city - had flavor, texture, and moisture - perfectly paired with the hot BBQ sauce and sides of Mac & Cheese and Fried Okra. And Dwyanya is the hardest worker in the entire state - she was running the counter, training a new employee, leading the kitchen, serving orders, and welcoming every single customer within seconds of them entering with a warm smile, all the info you'd ever want or need, and make you feel like you are home. I couldn't have gone to a better place than here today!! Best BBQ in Dallas - and a must stop!!

My fiancé and I wandered into Moak’s by chance, and we are so glad we did! The smell of BBQ literally drew us in off the street as we tried to figure out what we were going to eat. We received a warm welcome as we walked in the door and were given directions to grab a menu and that we could sit while we looked it over, or stand and review it before coming back up to the counter to order. We were also given an explanation that everything they made in house was beef products, with emphasis on their beef rib specialty - we didn’t try that this visit. I wasn’t that hungry and just got a chopped brisket sandwich. It was really good, and I’m super picky about BBQ. The cut was surprisingly lean for brisket (i.e. not filled with gristle), but so very tender. My only critique is that there is quite a lot of salt on the outer edge of the brisket, which I seemed to get a good chunk of in my sandwich. I loved the spicy BBQ sauce with it, as it has quite a kick! My fiancé had the “h’angry” - a huge loaded baked potato that he said was the “best made” loaded potato he’d ever had. And this man has had quite a few. The quote was, “It was like eating mashed potatoes all the way through.” See pictorial evidence that he even ate the skin. We live about 25-30 min away in Dallas traffic, but WILL make the drive back to eat here again. To the cook: muy muy bueno!

A Sunday early afternoon walk in Dallas brought us to Moak's Family Texas BBQ ....the steer smoker outside drew us in and upon entry Dwyanya, the server greeted us as if we were long lost friends....
The entire menu looked great but we settled on a Dino Rib, a Hangry Potato the Texas Torpedoes, a side of cornbread, a side of Mac and a short helping of Brisket...(There were three of us)...
Dino Rib with a pepper forward rub was fall off the bone perfect and great with and without the sauce...they have two types and both were great.
H'angry potato...massive spud with chopped beef butter, queso, onion strings and chives .... MASSIVE!....each bite packed with bites of flavor and were reminded us of a well made Shepard's Pie...Texas Torpedoes, you get three, with crispy bacon...wrapped jalapeno stuffed with brisket....the jalapeno is prepared so the heat is minimal but you can catch a bit at the tail of the bite...
Cornbread fresh out of the oven , piping hot and melty buttery goos...the Mac and cheese was fresh made, to order. They didn't apply the cheese until it was going out the kitchen and you could tell it was something special, the cheese had pull to it, it wasn't soupy or liquid...ot had substance in a good way....and the side of brisket went fast....we finished sharing the peach cobbler....
If you ever find yourself in the area, stop in, if you beat the rush order the Dino Rib, and a choice of the sides, finish with the cobbler and say 'hey' to Dwyanya...you won't regret it...
