A little hidden gem on S Polk St that's easy to miss but impossible to forget once you've been. The cochinita pibil is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned — exactly what authentic Mexican food should taste like. The chilaquiles with both red and green sauce are incredible, the caldo de pollo is comfort food at its finest, and the weekend menudo and pozole are some of the best in Dallas.
Small, cozy, and full of character — ask for Jose, he's phenomenal. Open 7 days a week starting at 8AM on weekends. A must for anyone craving real, homestyle Mexican food.

I want lie food is good. I do like their menudo. But at $30 a bucket. When they used to be under 15, not that long ago. And it's not even enough for two people. I can no longer justify purchasing it for $30. It's just not enough food. It was enough for me, not for 2. I remember I used to buy to buckets, and it would be enough for three people. And it would be under $30. But now $,30 for 1 I won't be coming back anymore. Even though the food is good, it is, but that is too expensive for one bucket. And it's not even enough for two people. I hope things change, but I don't see that happening. I understand prices of everything have gone up.But I cannot justify this. Not for the price and the quantity you receive. As I worked in the food industry, I understand what they are facing. But I cannot justify this at all. It's like some of those restaurants. You go to and it's $30 for a hamburger. I can't do that. There's no way in gods green Earth. I'm paying $30 for a hamburger. And now, this is happening.I think i'm just going to give up on eating out.And just cooking at home, it's just getting too outrageously expensive. I wish them look and hopefully things change. And prices can come down. But I doubt that, but they do make good food, and if you can justify the price visit them, it's good, but not for that price.
My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time and we absolutely loved it! He had the Camarones a la Diabla, I ordered the carne asada burrito, and my son had the caldo de pollo. Everything was delicious, but the Camarones were definitely the standout!
The service was amazing as well. We were the only customers there, and our waitress went above and beyond—she even held our son so we could eat. If you’re a parent, you know how much that means when dining out with a toddler.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back!
