Definitely worth it. Great service. Met my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary dinner. I hey really took care of us and food was outstanding.

Avocado toast was wonderful and our server was perfect. My only suggestion was that music was way too loud. Everyone had to talk louder so it was very noisy for brunch.

I went with a couple of friends to celebrate a birthday of theirs, and the food was so phenomenal, I forgot to even take pictures! We sat outside, which had lovely French music playing. Our server was a young gentleman with curly black hair and glasses, and he was wonderful! His service was 10 out of 10 and he was very knowledgeable on the menu. The food at each phase from the soup all the way to dessert was prepared perfectly. I had the onion soup to start, which was not too salty at all! Perfectly cooked onions. We had the ricotta and bread appetizer which paired beautifully with the fruit preserves. The fried artichoke along with the sauce was great, and the brussels sprouts had a slight tinge of vinegar while also a sweetness from some maple. These were some of the most distinct brussels sprouts I’ve had at a restaurant before, and not in a bad way. For the main entrée, I had the striped bass, my friend had the burger, and my other friend had the Cordon Bleu chicken.
The striped Seabass was cooked amazingly, still with the skin on, with a beautiful citrus sauce and the tender asparagus on the side. The Cordon Bleu was tender, and the sauce with it was delicious. The burger was requested to be well done, and was done so while also not being dry. The fries were thin cut, not too salty, and tasted great! For dessert, we had this beautiful pastry cake with a light vanilla cream, which was just so perfectly baked I couldn’t believe it. The cream had the obvious taste of REAL vanilla and was not overly sweet at all. It definitely reminded me of a real French pastry directly from France. Our friend had a phenomenal birthday here, and we will definitely be back! I highly recommend coming here.

Mercat Bistro is one of those places that instantly transports you somewhere else. The patio overlooking the garden is SO pretty and charming that you forget you’re even in Dallas.
I had a latte, the whipped ricotta, and the quiche Lorraine. The whipped ricotta was absolutely to DIE for and easily my favorite thing we ordered. The quiche Lorraine was also delicious, and my boyfriend really enjoyed his eggs Benedict.
The food and service were both good, but honestly, the atmosphere is what makes this place so special. Between the gorgeous patio, the garden views, and the cozy French café vibe, it’s the kind of spot you want to linger at for hours.Mercat Bistro is one of those places that instantly transports you somewhere else. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. The service was absolutely horrible. We had reservations for 12:30 PM and didn’t even receive menus until 1:15 PM. The service was extremely slow, and our food didn’t arrive until 2:30 PM.
There were multiple apologies throughout the experience, along with pastry baskets, free prosecco, and a ricotta appetizer offered because of the delays. However, when the check arrived, all of those “complimentary” items had been added to the bill.
This was supposed to be a special celebration for a bride-to-be, but instead we experienced poor service and ended up with a $400 check. I would understand if the restaurant had been extremely busy, but it was not.
Very disappointing experience — we will not be returning.
