I keep coming back for the same reasons: the produce is cheap and actually good, the meat is quality without the usual markup, and the whole store leans hard into Mexican food culture in a way that feels real, not token. The vegetable section is stacked. Tomatillos, jalapeños, serranos, poblanos, cilantro, calabaza, nopalitos, plantains. All are fresh, plentiful, and priced like they want you to cook at home instead of eat out. Everyday veggies hold up too. Nothing sad or wilted sitting there for days. You can load a cart without wincing at the total. Meat is the other win. In-store cut pork, chicken, and beef at prices that make weeknight dinners and bigger family meals realistic. Carnitas packs, chops, ground beef, you get the quality you’d expect from the H-E-B family without paying full H-E-B prices. Walk the aisles and Mexican produce and pantry staples are everywhere: masa, dried chiles, a serious Latino cheese selection, fresh tortillas and bolillos from the bakery. It doesn’t feel like a regular supermarket that tacked on an “ethnic” aisle. The store is built around how a lot of families actually cook. And the Mexican candy selection is excellent. Mazapán, picafresa, paleta payaso, tamarind spoons, chamoy. The good stuff is there and priced right. Easy to grab a bag or several on the way out. Low prices, fresh produce, solid meat, and a store that actually understands Mexican cooking and snacks. That’s why it’s five stars. Highly recommend if you want quality without overpaying. I drive over 1.5 hours at least once a month.

My first impression was a little hectic. It was full and the Best Buy fruit section but again that’s nobody can really control that vegetable fruits. Most of the time are really good prices. Everything else is I guess here and there you gotta figure out what works for you what exactly is needed but overall they have plenty of people working there. That’s a good thing. There’s always somebody to ask a question too so for that reason, I’m giving a five star review just because of all the extra people they have there that’s awesome.

Review My first time shopping at joe V’s ,and honestly, I was very disappointed. The prices are good, and some of the staff were friendly, but my cashier’s attitude completely ruined the experience. I don’t mind bagging my own groceries that’s not the issue. The issue was the way she spoke to me and asked me to bag my things. Her attitude was rude and disrespectful, as if I was bothering her by being there. If customers are expected to bag their own groceries, that’s fine, but there is absolutely no reason for employees to be rude about it. Customer service and attitude still matter. I really hope management addresses this and makes sure customers are treated with respect. I shouldn’t leave a store feeling like an employee was doing me a favor by checking me out.
