I went to Joe Leo’s for the first time and it was outstanding. I had the beef fajitas for dinner and they were delicious. It came out sizzling and the beef was very tender. To wash it all down, I had one of their famous margaritas that really hit the spot. I was also served by a very kind gentleman named Cash who provided the greatest service anyone could ask for. He took fantastic care of me and my family. Will be coming back for sure!

I will say this place could be amazing, a 5/5, but this place has a number of faults making it difficult for both customers and staff, so it at best earns a 2/5.
1. The establishment refuses to give walk in customers a wait time. This is completely inappropriate for the Knox/Henderson area. For a heads up expect a 30+min wait time unless you reserve online well before.
2. There’s only 1 bar tender supporting the whole restaurant. The wait times on drinks hurt the staff more since this impacts potential tips for the staff.
3. Inattentive staff- there is a large number of staff members walking in pairs, but only some of the staff seems to actually be assisting customers. It’s very confusing watching how many people work there but pass work off to the next person. To the staff who was working so diligently I apologize as this is not a reflection of you individually, but of the vibe overall.
To identify some wins: good drinks and the foods solid! If you approach this place with the intent to hang with some friends after work then it’s for you, but do not come here if you’re looking for a dinner experience that will impress your peers.

The only thing good during my girlfriend and i’s date this Saturday was the ambiance. Besides that everything else was unfortunately bad. The food is cheap quality especially for the high price. You can go to E bar down the street with similar prices and way higher quality. The service was just as bad, we ate at the bar and the bartender couldn’t care less about our experience. There were flies at the bar and no effort to remove them or even acknowledge the flies by the staff. My margarita tasted like a cheap pre made margarita. My girlfriend’s shrimp enchilada smelled bad she ate two bites and nothing more. The bartender didn’t even care to ask if anything was wrong with the meal when it clearly was a fully thrown away plate. Most of the people in there were in their early 20’s and I would assume are paying for the ambiance. Any adult who’s had good food and service in the area would probably agree this place is disappointing.

I reserved well in advance, specifically requesting the main dining room for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival, the staff seemed confused and seated us in the bar area instead. While not terrible, it was crowded, with people constantly bumping into our chairs.
Service was painfully slow—over 50 minutes for food. Our waitress appeared after 10 minutes, then vanished for another 15. The soft-serve margaritas were good, but the first one arrived half-melted despite the restaurant not being hot.
Overall, the place looks nice, but the staff appears undertrained or severely understaffed. I also noticed a kitchen staff member wash his hands quickly and dry them on his pants when no paper towels were available—pretty gross.
Skip it for birthdays or anniversaries. You’ll likely wait forever and get stuck in the noisy bar, with guests hovering next to your table while you try to take photos. The young staff handling reservations looked lost and seated people haphazardly. It's a nice concept, but needs major work on staff.

I went to Joe leo and had one of the most horrible and disappointing dining experiences. I arrived there and was greeted by a the host, he was very kind. I asked to sit a high top and he had to go double check with the bar to make sure that was ok. Once I sat down, a lady came to me with some chips and salsa after about 2 mins of me sitting. After that I was never serviced and acknowledged again. I waited for 21 mins with no service, no acknowledgement, I initially didn’t say anything because I assumed they were busy to which I understand, but after a while it became ridiculous. Servers, bartenders, managers were walking pass me constantly and not one person asked me if I needed anything or if I had been helped with. So after waiting I tried to get the attention of a server walking and again I was ignored. Eventually I went up to the bar to ask for service, and I was told by a bartender if I would like to order I’d have to come up to the bar to place my order????? And that wouldn’t have been an issue if that was communicated beforehand when I was sat at the high tops, but let’s say that was the case, and as later found out is not, You see someone sitting down for that long, one of the many people they had at the bar could’ve of stop by and said that. I decided to go back to the host stand and ask for a table because I didn’t have the time to keep going back and forth from my seat to the bar to order. Once I was seated it then took a server 10 more minutes to come up to me, and by that point I was fed up, I asked to speak to a manager, and explained to him my frustration and that’s when he let me know that you don’t go up to the bar to order and that a server or bartender comes up to you and takes your order and service you just like most restaurants. But even talking to him didn’t feel genuine. You’d think things would get better from there… it didn’t I continue to wait another 15 minutes to get my drink. and had to ask my server to order. I also want to mention there was a couple that came in after me and sat at the bar, and was already eating before I was even able to get a drink in front of me. Once I got my food it was just ok. I work in the service industry so I normally wouldn’t care to ask to speak to managers and come online and write reviews because I do understand things happens, and that’s why I was so patient at first but telling me that you guys are busy doesn’t excuse being completely ignored, and the pace of the restaurant at the time shouldn’t compromise service and guest experience. Just a terrible experience and I was excited to come here too, one star is generous.
After reading some of the negative reviews, there seem to be a pattern with poor service in this establishment, that might be something you guys should focus on. 🙂
