This place was really nice a friend of mine who is a social butterfly invited me here and I loved it. The atmosphere was really warm and luxurious. The temperature was just right, which is always an issue for me because I hate to be cold and the sushi was really good. I believe I had the surf and turf sushi. And I had the lychee martini which was also really good but it kind of gave me a headache. I don’t know if it was the sweetness or what, but I couldn’t taste a lick of alcohol all in all it was a great experience, great vibe great location will definitely be back.
Great sommelier, but service and management failed a party of 13.
We dined at Catch Dallas as a group of 13 and spent over $2,000. The food itself was good, and our sommelier KC was outstanding, knowledgeable, attentive, and a genuine bright spot of the evening.
Unfortunately, the service surrounding the food was unacceptable for a restaurant at this level. When our entrees arrived, two servers began dropping plates on the table at random, with no regard for who ordered what. The steaks were set down without anyone announcing which temperature was which, leaving a table of 13 to guess and swap plates. I politely asked one of the servers to stop so we could sort out the orders. He ignored me completely. I raised my voice and asked again. He continued as if I wasn't there.
I asked for a manager. Our waiter came first, I explained the situation, and again requested the manager. The manager took far too long to appear. When he finally did, he walked up without introducing himself and simply asked, "How's the temperature of the steaks?" I told him I was waiting for the manager. His reply: "Oh, that's me." He had arrived with no idea why he had been called and no introduction. I explained what happened and asked for a simple apology from the server. It never came.
A few complimentary desserts were sent out, but that misses the point. On a bill north of $2,000, basic respect and accountability should not be too much to ask. Auctioning off unidentified plates at a fine dining restaurant is sloppy. Ignoring a guest twice is inexcusable. A manager who arrives late, unintroduced, and uninformed, and then cannot secure an apology, compounds it all.
Credit to KC and the kitchen. The rest of the operation needs serious attention.
Live in Uptown and was very excited to try Catch. My wife and I have probably been to close to 20 fine dining restaurants in this area, if I were to rank it would be dead last. Arrived at 6pm and only 4 other tables were occupied, ordered our drinks shortly after. Cocktails came at 630, ordered the Filet, Sashimi and Surf and Turf Roll. Staff rarely checked on us. Filet was the worst cut of meat I have ever tasted, Ive literally had better from a McDonald's hamburger. The Sashimi and roll were just ok, nothing more. For dessert we ordered the chocolate cake, 40 minutes later, staff came over and said the printer in the desert station wasn't working. Not sure what that means. Atmosphere was good, it's very well decorated. Total bill for 3 was $330, I do not recommend. The waiter was clearly not interested in being there. Go down the street to Uchiba if looking for sushi and for $330 go across the street to Nick and Sam's.
I want to first say that I love Catch. The dinner menu, service, and ambiance is great! And I am highly disappointed in the Sunday brunch experience. I personally prefer the way it initially was. $65 for chicken and waffles isn’t worth it as someone who doesn’t eat sushi. I would love if things went back to how they were. If not, i’ll just go for the dinner service oppose to their brunch and dinner. (We also never received the cinnamon bun that we were supposed to get.)

A very delicious dinner, but VERY pricey for entrees and service was just ok…
We came here to celebrate our engagement the day before, and even though our waiter asked if we were celebrating anything and we told him, there was nothing following that mention of our special night. This was odd and I don’t understand why this was even asked if nothing was going to be done or recognized. We don’t expect anything free, but given that our bill for the evening was over $500, a little something would have been appreciated. The host at the entrance were also a bit stand offish and gave a very “LA vibe - you are blessed to be able to even dine here”. They don’t even validate your valet which I expect at these prices.
Anyway, the food and drinks were very high quality and the overall decor of the restaurant is fun. The sushi and fish entrees were stand out, and the deserts were very fun and delicious. I’d recommend the AYCE brunch as it appears to be a great value, or a happy hour.
