- SCSid Chu1 day ago1.0Extremely Disappointed — A Heartless Experience on My Daughter’s 15th Birthday! Yesterday, I visited this location to buy a birthday cake for my daughter, who was turning 15. It was supposed to be a special and memorable day for her, but unfortunately, the rude, insensitive, and completely unhelpful attitude of one employee turned a happy moment into an extremely upsetting experience. All I asked was for a simple birthday greeting to be written on my daughter’s cake. Instead of showing even the slightest courtesy, the lady bluntly refused, telling me, “This is Dunkin’. If you want something written on the cake, go to Baskin-Robbins.” The ridiculous part? Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins operate together at this very same location! I politely explained that it was my daughter’s 15th birthday and even requested something I could use to write the message myself. I wasn’t asking for anything free or unreasonable. I was simply a father trying to make his daughter’s birthday special. But she continued refusing, with a smile on her face that made me feel as though my frustration meant absolutely nothing to her. Her attitude came across as mocking rather than helpful. What hurt me the most wasn’t the refusal. It was the complete lack of empathy, kindness, and basic human decency. A simple “I’m sorry, we can’t do that, but here’s another option” would have made all the difference. Instead, I walked away feeling humiliated, disappointed, and deeply hurt on a day that was supposed to be about my daughter’s happiness. I understand that businesses have policies, but having a policy does not give employees an excuse to treat customers without compassion or respect. To the management: You may see this as just another cake sale, but to me, it was my daughter’s 15th birthday — a milestone that comes only once in her life. Your employee’s behavior cast an unnecessary shadow over that special moment. You didn’t just lose a cake sale. You lost a customer, my trust, and any reason for me to recommend this location to anyone. I will not be returning, and I will continue sharing my experience so other customers know how I was treated. A birthday cake is just a cake to your business. But to a father, it’s part of a memory he is trying to create for his child. Unfortunately, your employee made this one memorable for all the wrong reasons. One star — and only because zero stars isn’t an option.
