  Landry's has been a destination location for us since we lived near Denver, CO many years ago. While on a trip to Corpus Christi, we had the phenomenal opportunity to spend the evening getting pampered at Landry's. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we walked back out, we were treated like family. I had cut my finger and somehow lost the bandaid. Knowing that crab legs were in my immediate future, I asked if they possibly had a bandaid. They came up with a bandaid and a wonderful covering that was like a heavy-duty blue finger condom. *I think it's visible in the picture of my husband and I. Every bite was mouthwatering, the service was spectacular, the atmosphere was, of course, a dream... Landry's was the final stop on our trip and one of the top highlights.

  Was passing thru town and had dinner here tonight and what a letdown of a meal it was.. I was looking fwd to hopefully a great meal, and it was anything but that. I ordered the Mahi mahi with the crescent city sauce. The piece of fish was freaking tiny. Like literally one and a half inches by one and a half inches small. It was like the back-end tail of a filet. For a $42 pricepoint (fish and sauce), this is ridiculous?! I spoke to the bartender, who agreed with me about the portion size, and summoned the manager over. The manager comes over, and instead of fixing the issue and getting me a decent portion of fish, she says, 'I'll take the sauce cost ($11) off of your bill..'. No lady, how about going back to the kitchen and asking the chef why he wld ever serve such a tiny portion of fish like this to a patron paying $42?! And furthermore, getting me more of a reasonable amount of fish to eat, so I can actually enjoy the meal. That wld have left me happy at least with the resolution of things. But no, instead, I went back to the hotel very hungry.. I shld have gone to dinner at Water Street, which is always dependable, and where I normally eat fish in downtown Corpus. There is NO WAY an experience like this one would have occurred there, no way. What an extremely disappointing experience overall. An experience that the manager on duty cld have easily resolved if she had any customer service experience whatsoever, or just at a minimum, cared at all to make her customer happy. But she did not care. She just gave the impression she was ready to go home.

  When my plate of Mahi-mahi Pontchartrain arrived I thought OMG that looks delicious I couldn't have been more wrong. And it's not like the place was busy at this point I was the only one upstairs at the bar and there was nobody in the tables, the place was ready to close at 8:00 on a Friday night and now I know why. The dish was extremely underwhelming, the shrimp was like rubber and overcooked, I ordered dirty rice instead got plain white rice that had zero flavor, the Pontchartrain sauce was also flavorless and desperately needed Salt. I scraped off the mahi-mahi which wasn't bad and used a little Louisiana hot sauce on it to add some flavor, other than that I left everything behind. My last ever trip to Landry's.

  I’m working in Corpus Christi right now so my wife drove down here from Houston for our anniversary. I wanted to take her to a really nice dinner and researched everything Corpus Christi had to offer. Being a creature of habit, I ignored the recommendations and made reservations at Landry’s. Can’t go wrong with Landry’s right? And it’s on the water? HUGE MISTAKE We didn’t need our reservation because there were less than a dozen people in there. We were starving after being at the beach all day so I thought we would get our food quickly. No. I’ve gotten better service at a crowded restaurant that was understaffed. Took 15 minutes just to get bread. Another 15 minutes to get the most disgusting spinach/crab dip that we barely hate half of only because we were so hungry. Tea glass empty for 15 more minutes while we waited for our entrees. We ordered grilled mahi mahi and a fried seafood platter so we could mix and match. It looked fantastic when it arrived. The mahi was bland but the rice was okay. The steamed broccoli was crunchy throughout. The fried catfish and fried shrimp had no flavor, the fried oysters were rubbery, the tails of the stuffed shrimp were still cold, fries were old and stale, onion rings were like shoestring potatoes, and we didn’t even want to try the stuffed crab. I never complain at a restaurant because I don’t like to insult people. So when the waiter (Jonas) asked how was it? (after Deanna literally had to stop him as he walked past us numerous times and would not check on us) I just said we’ve had better from Landry’s. “I’m so sorry to hear that, will there be anything else?” Uhhh.. no. Just the check and a to go box because I just couldn’t leave $100 worth of uneaten food on the table. We both said, “you can have this for lunch tomorrow.” I insisted that my wife take it with her but she snuck out this morning and left them behind. On purpose I’m sure. It’s already in the trash. We left there saying we should have just gone to Whataburger. Biggest dinner fail ever. And it was our 2yr anniversary and my wife looked so pretty! Very disappointed. See picture for how much food we bought home and threw away. We left the fries, onion strings, broccoli, fried oysters, and spinach/crab dip at the restaurant.

  Would have been a five star review - had not been for exceptionally bad service from our waitress Tracy. I lived in corpus for 7 years but moved to Austin a few years ago. I was back in town with my gf and we only had one night in corpus and I told her Landry’s would be a great place for our one dinner opportunity in corpus. We had many options but Landry’s was our choice. Upon arriving, we waited quit a bit to even be greeted by our waitress. Not a big deal.. it’s a Saturday night. We get it. But when our waitress finally took our order, I can’t even express how caught off guard I was by how rude she was right out of the gate. I asked if coffee was available (not on the menu) and she looked at me with a blank stare and said “ coffee is available I just brewed a pot…??” in a very condescending nature.. as if I was supposed to have known she had just brewed coffee. Then I asked if they served espresso and she seemed immensely confused at me asking for that and said upstairs may have espresso but she’d have to check. I, at this point, felt like what were two simple questions about the menu had turned into a very hostile and confusing encounter with Tracy. My gf ordered a steak and our waitress also was increasingly rude and condescendingly let my gf know a steak can only be cooked certain types of ways, essentially that my gf didn’t order her steak correctly. My gf knows how steak is cooked. Completely uncalled for. I legitimately never came so close to walking out of a restaurant due to such a bad service before. Later she came by to ask how we were doing, and walked away from our table before we even had a chance to answer. I cannot make this up. This was exceptionally unfortunate, as we chose to spend our only night in corpus at this restaurant getting talked to like we were stupid by our server. The food was wonderful and that was the only redeeming factor of visiting Landry’s. After that experience I will not rush to come back. I have worked in food service for over 11 years. Please: don’t work in service if the bare minimum of being kind to your customers is out of your skill box.
