  Came in today and had an awesome lunch! Fayth took great care of us making sure we enjoyed our entire dining experience. Outstanding service! The kitchen also did not disappoint as usual! We have been enjoying meals here at The Ginger Cafe for a few years now. They have never let us down and are only getting better with time. I recommend the beef shawarma hummus as your starter. Mixed grill Kabob platter as a main dish. Finished off with a cup of Coconut Gelato with mango syrup. Oh and don’t forget to have a glass of the house made Ginger Ale!

  Family of 6 went on mother's day. Place was semi packed at the time we went and they took us in without a reservation no problem. Visit was from 3:12 - 4:52 pm I will say the food was very delicious. I ordered the shawarma combo and added a side greek salad. My husband ordered the same minus the side salad. We both loved everything. For the kids we ordered 1 chicken shawarna wrap, and 3 build your own bowls. 2 build your own bowls were rice and beef shawarna and the remaining was a rice and chicken shawarna. Kids loved it. The fresh baked bread is delicious, soft and fluffy. We also ordered an extra order of hummus about 20 minutes before we left the establishment. Initially service was very good, towards the end it was a bit lacking since we waited and waited for our waiter, so we could order a hummus but since he wasn't around we had to flag down someone else for help. Had to ask 2 separate times, 2 separate people about that hummus. The server ended up coming back an apologized for not being there to take the order for the hummus. At that same time we were getting started to leave and asked for 2 to go boxes. We were pretty satisfied up until that point. Our stomach was full so our heart was content. I started packing our extra food to go. With the corner of my right eye I noticed movement on the floor near the mat in front of the register. I looked and nothing seemed to be there. I continued to pack our food. Noticed movement again on the floor near the mat. Looked again for a longer time. A brown bug was crawling on the floor. It resembled a roach a lot. I think it was a roach. I was very grossed out by this time. I looked at my watch it was 4:46 pm. If you have cameras in the dining area please look at footage and you'll see it crawl on the floor near the mat and then head towards the direction of the restroom. I was going to leave a 4 star review based solely on taste but with the bug situation and with it looking like it was a roach I took a star away. Had I not seen that bug I would have left it at 4 but I saw what I saw. I was sure, initially, that we would return to this establishment because we truly enjoyed the food but now I'm not sure we will after seeing that bug. I really hope that gets under control because after seeing that I went to read other reviews and at least 2 other reviews mentioned bugs on food or in establishment 😲

  Things have changed here over the past 5 years and not necessarily for the better. I used to be able to eat here with food restrictions of gluten and some dairy with no problem. Last night we went and it was very challenging you find anything bcuz the meats are mostly marinated in some sort of dairy. I'm so sad that this won't be on our list of places to go anymore.

  We came here with a large family after an event and we had an amazing time. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and made sure we were taken care the entire time. The food came out hot and in big portions, and the lamb was some of the best we have tried. This is a cozy little place and is great for a date, family outing, or quick lunch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

  My favorite restaurant in Corpus for a healthy lunch! My co-workers and I always crave Ginger Cafe! Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Hummus and the Fattoush Chicken Salad are our go to meals! We always feel satisfied and energized to finish our work day without the heavy feeling since they use healthy oils to prepare their dishes. Delivery via their website is super easy! Highly recommend- you won't regret it!
