I ordered a burger from this Five Guys and discovered what appeared to be a small cockroach or roach-like insect sitting directly on the tomato inside my burger. I’ve attached photos because this is something people should be able to see for themselves. Finding an insect inside food that has already been prepared and served is beyond disturbing. It immediately makes you question the cleanliness of the food-preparation area, how fresh ingredients are being stored and handled, and what kind of sanitation checks are actually taking place. Five Guys is not inexpensive, either. Customers are paying a premium for a burger, and the absolute minimum expectation should be that the food is prepared in a clean environment and doesn’t contain insects. Needless to say, I completely lost my appetite. This wasn’t a minor issue like a forgotten topping or an incorrect order. Finding an insect directly on an ingredient in my burger is a serious food-safety and cleanliness concern. I will not be returning to this location, and I strongly recommend management investigate how this happened before another customer has the same experience.
