Very disappointed with the new Celina Chipotle. This location needs to focus on hiring the right people, improving employee attitudes, creating a sense of urgency, and providing much better training. The workflow is terrible, and it feels like people were simply put behind the counter without being properly taught how to operate efficiently as a team. This location desperately needs a strong team leader who can guide the employees, direct traffic, assign responsibilities, and keep everyone moving with a sense of urgency. If management wants to see what good workflow looks like, visit the Chipotle at Coit and Legacy. They get it. Their team understands how to communicate, work together, and move customers through efficiently. I live about two minutes from the new Celina location. Before it opened, I drove all the way to McKinney for Chipotle—about 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back. After my experiences at the Celina location, I will continue making that drive to McKinney just to avoid this location. Opening a new restaurant isn’t just about putting enough bodies in the building and expecting them to figure it out. You have to train people, establish leadership, set expectations, and teach them how to work together. Come on, Chipotle. Try again. I genuinely didn’t think I would find a restaurant operation more frustrating than the McDonald’s at Preston Road and Frontier Parkway, but somehow we managed to get there.

I don’t typically write reviews, but after several visits, I think this location needs some attention. It started off great, but over the last few weeks it’s consistently felt overwhelmed and poorly managed. This is not a knock on the staff. They seem to be doing the best they can, but they need stronger leadership and support. The lines are consistently backed up, food is often unavailable while it’s being prepped, workstations are messy, floors are wet, equipment is down, and you can visibly see the frustration from both employees and customers. Being told at 4 PM on a Sunday that certain food won’t be available for another 30 minutes shouldn’t be a recurring issue. This is a new store in a busy area, so the demand shouldn’t be a surprise. Better prep, stronger shift leadership, and more proactive management would go a long way. There’s potential here, but operationally, they have to get ahead of it before this becomes the reputation of the location.

I genuinely appreciate Chipotle for saving my marriage. My wife and I waited in line long enough to talk about some things we have been avoiding for the past several years in our marriage. The wait was long enough to settle quarrels. As we began to eat our food, we both agreed that the food is very mediocre. We finally agreed on something after years of being together. We haven’t felt this connected in a long time. As we exited, my wife almost tripped on some water on the floor. I haven’t held my wife like that in so long… Thank you Chipotle. You saved us.

I am leaving this review more out of concern than frustration. I eat at other Chipotle locations regularly, and unfortunately this location has consistently stood out for the wrong reasons. Nearly every online order we have placed here has had some type of issue, ranging from missing items to incorrect orders. On one occasion, one of our burritos was missing the chicken entirely. During another visit, I went inside to pick up an order because the drive thru line was extremely long. The employee at the register was very kind and helpful, but the employee handling the to go orders seemed completely disengaged. At the same time, managers or team leaders appeared to be holding a meeting while the restaurant was clearly overwhelmed. I politely asked for vinaigrette and was told they were out without much acknowledgment. The employee at the register then walked over and found it within seconds. I intentionally did not leave a review after the first few experiences because I know this location is relatively new and every new location deserves some grace while working through growing pains. Unfortunately, instead of improving, the experience seems to be getting progressively worse. At this point, this feels less like an isolated service issue and more like a leadership and operational problem. I plan to share the details with corporate as well, not simply to complain, but because I would want someone to know if a location was consistently representing the brand this way.

I ordered through the app and was told my food would be ready at 1:20 PM. I was picking up food from a few different restaurants, so I planned my other orders around that 1:20 pickup time and chose the “Fast Lane” thinking I could grab my order and keep going. Unfortunately, the Fast Lane was anything but fast. It took over 35 minutes just to get through the pickup line. When I finally got to the window around 1:37, my food hadn’t even been made yet. I didn’t actually get my order until 1:55 — 35 minutes after the app said it would be ready. That also threw off the timing of the other orders I had planned around this pickup. But the delay itself honestly isn’t what bothered me the most. I understand restaurants get busy. Things happen and sometimes orders are going to be late. My biggest issue was the complete lack of communication and customer service. When I finally got to the Fast Lane window, the employee opened it, asked for the name on my order, and then just closed the window without saying anything. No “sorry, we’re running behind,” no “your order isn’t ready yet,” nothing. They went back to helping other customers while I sat there having no idea what was going on with my order. If they had simply said, “I’m sorry, we’re running a little behind and your order isn’t ready yet, but we’re working on it and will get it to you as quickly as possible,” I would have understood. Seriously, that little bit of communication probably would have changed my entire experience. I can understand a delay. What I don’t understand is leaving a customer sitting there without even acknowledging that there is one. Communication goes a long way, especially when something doesn’t go as planned. That was the most frustrating part of this experience and ultimately why I’m leaving a 1-star review.
