  I was here for dinner on May 31st. Normally I'd give 5 stars for their food, but the taco meat was too salty & the chips they gave me with my queso burrito (my favorite!) were NOT the usual good restaurant chips - they'd replaced them with some horrible cardboard-tasting junk!!! I guess their costs increased so instead of doing the smart thing of simply raising prices in small increments they replaced good chips with inferior ones! I don't even know what a queso burrito costs, I just know that the only place to get one is at Pepe's, so I go there, REGARDLESS OF THE PRICE!!! Come on guys, be smart, do better!!! UPDATE: APOLOGY! I'm sorry about making an assumption about how you do business (that you changed your chips to avoid raising prices), is that what you mean by "a lie"? I wasn't clear on what you were referring to. Food manufacturers (grocery stores/restaurants) have for decades been doing EVERYTHING to avoid raising their prices after their costs increase (ie shrinking product volume while keeping prices the same, substituting cheaper & inferior ingredients for the original ones, etc) so I thought you'd done the same. Do you make your own chips? If not then your chip supplier HAS CHANGED THE CHIPS THEY SELL YOU WITHOUT TELLING YOU! I actually live in the Dallas area but Bryan is my home town & I still have family there that I visit now & then. I first noticed your chips were not the same during a visit in April, but forgot about it until my visit in May & I really don't know what you could've done at the time to make it better as I wouldn't expect you to throw out a whole batch of taco meat because it was too salty & you couldn't give me chips you didn't have. The review was delayed due to my father dying in June, so I was dealing with grief plus some other things. Again, I'm sorry about making an assumption about how you do business & for the harsh tone of my review!

  Pepes has been a favorite of mine since I was kid. Always consistent, never any surprises! The best fast food Mexican food!!!

  No understanding how to order when you tell the cashier what you want and she put in what she wants so she can get a better sale that now how it should go but there is a first time for everything I will keep my money in my pocket before I let a cashier say I can’t read I told her what I want I call it a day

  The food was excellent today!!! I was able to watch the food being made and I knew it was going to be fantastic! Kudos to the black lady that made the food! PERFECTION! She should train your other employees. Please keep doing whay yall've been doing for over 50 years!
